We are underpaying our manufacturing base. We need to get more jobs back into the country, raise their pay, at the same time lower the taxes of the companies they work for allowing them to turn a nice profit. This will bring a large amount of competition which will in turn drive down the cost of the products being made, all at the same time generating more taxes for other things we need to correct in this country.

Yes I wouldn't mind if I had to pay slightly more for that. But I also wouldn't mind if it happened gradually and not in one big jump either.

I would have to sit down and look at the information at hand then make a final decision based off of that information.

I want to believe that we're underpaying our manufacturing base. It's politlically correct. It's also blatantly untrue and you're intentionally lying or brainwashed if you're serious.

No we're not. We're overpaying them as evidenced by other countries being able to do it for less.

But you're still not answering the question - why are you saying that you don't want to overpay for shit produced by people on minimum wage but you're willing to overpay for shit made by others?

Also your statement is contradictory. You just said not to raise the pay of people on minimum wage but we should raise the pay of others? Why not just let the market sort both of them out. Right, because you're not making any sense.

I'm just waiting for an answer that actually explains why overpaying for one thing is okay with you while overpaying for another thing isn't. Or why you want to force the government to protect some employees' standard of living but think it's a bad idea for the government to protect other employees' standard of living?

Answer, because you have to find the number that is set for price-of-living and wages earned. Else you end up with corporations setting floors, which never turns out well.

Why are you comparing autoworkers to fast food burger flippers?

People act like If Mcdonalds workers get a raise then all the owner of mcdonalds has to do is raise the price to the same margin he was making previously. Like if he was making 50 cents on a big mac, just raise the cost of the biog mac another 50 cents. But you now have to include his paper products cost more, veggies cost more, meat cost more, etc. There has been an increase in all his supply chain products. So he can't just raise the cost of a big mac 50 censt to just make up for teh increase in labor cost, he has to raise it even more to make of for the cost of goods on everythign he is paying more on.

And if it is just that easy to raise the price of a bigmax 50 cents, why haven't they already done it? If society would pay 50 cents more for a big mac, why havent the owners raised the price of a bigmac 50 cents by now. Are they just freely leaving money on the table out of the goodness of their heart?

Why should a high school kid of kid in college have a minimum standard of living? And if you want tot alk about adults working their how do you seperate pay. So the adult working their should make enough to have all their basic needs taken care of but the 30 hour part timer just gets fucked?
 
$15 an hour minimum wage will not make sense everywhere, but if you live in Los Angeles or Manhattan it may not be enough. So I guess my obvious answer here is that your state decide. Your state senators or even mayor if you want to go that far are much more accessible than your f****** president
