Umar lost a close fight with merab and after that he hasnt really shown the kind of improvements you would expect after that kind of loss. I admit to being an Umar detractor but the guy is obviously an amazing prospect and id expect him to be coming along in leaps and bounds after a lesson like that. Is he just being mismanaged by his team? Cause if he continues like this, yan is gonna win a bloody and dominant decision off him.

Did Figgy even touch him? He just completely dominated a dangerous ex champ who moved up.

Anyway I expect Umar to be champ himself within the year.

Not every nurmagomedov is as good as Khabib. Maybe it's just his ceiling.

Also Khabib's camp doesn't strike me as a camp that will make you sort out your flaws. More like it molds you into a specific shape and keep polishing that shape.

Maybe he just doesn't have that special thing like Makhachev and that's it.

I believe he’s just not the same mentality as a Khabib who just bulldozed people or Islam who’s has good killer instinct.

We get to watch him fight for 15' twice a year.
Hard to judge his progress, specially if what he brings to the octagon is enough to win.

I think Yan likely beats him. Will be a fun chess match but I do really want to see it. First it'll be Yan vs O'Malley though, I think the UFC is desperate to get Omalley in the title picture.

He reads books, which hinders his development
+ Match-ups make fights, I am not sure at all he will be beaten up by Yan
