That loss to Edgar put him into a downward spiral from which he never recovered. His record after that fight is 1-8-1. The only win coming against Matt Hughes.

Having talent and some good wins doesn't get you a GOAT rating. Dufus, AKA BJ, is 7-13 since 2005 and what that does get you is the label of single biggest disappointment in the history of MMA.
