If he's ever going to move up to HW and prove that he's the best fighter in the world, he should have used his year off to gain mass and get in HW shape.

Also, since he wasn't being tested in that year, he could have gone Ubereem as well.

Now, if he ever does it, he's going to be doing it sub-optimally as a skinny-fat 230 lb guy.

How is that even a question?? He needs to comeback because he needs to regain his title, put the biggest rivalry in history on his pocket, cement his legacy by beating Rumble and he even wants to rematch Gus just to shut up the haters and undoubtedly go down was the GOAT.
The HW division is there, 2\3 more fights in LHW if everything goes his way and then he fights the HW Champ.

He's scared of HW. Simple as that.

The guy wouldn't even fight Chael Sonnen on short notice.

He's going to move up to HW looking like George Roop with a gut when he could be doing it looking like Brock

He's already cleared the entire division except for Rumble. There's not even really a point for him going back down

He wants the title back...and I think he never fights full time at heavy...at best he will pull a Sugar Ray Leonard/RJJ and jump up if he feels there is a weak champion and drop back down...

How does him not wanting to fight chael on short notice supposed to mean hes scared of HW?

You're a fool he was stripped as a LHW he should come back as one haven't you ever heard of "Unfinished business"... ?

Because he likes to win, and always does at LHW.

He still has to recapture the gold from DC, beat Rumble into submission ( I think Rumble leaves him unconscious), and smash Gus (hey he wants the rematch) b4 leaving for HW mountains. 3 fights lefts allow him to finish what he started.

That never works. It's impossible to clear a division. After he beats Rumble, there'll be some other young contender that he also hasn't beaten. After that guy, another one.

GSP, Anderson, and Aldo straight won fights for like 10 years and there were always new guys.

Because he knows he can't do as well in HW as he can in LHW..

by your logic, every fighter who gets hurt should add muscle and move up a weight class...
