Why is Gilbert Burns so highly regarded in here?

You ask, "who has he even beat" and then proceed to list multiple great fighters and make excuses for why they don't count.

I mean there's the real meat of this thread:
TS's bias.

You named 3 good wins. His title fight was good, too, rocking Usman like that. He also beat Gunnar and popped Alexey Kunchenko's cherry, derailing his 20-0 streak.

Even his losses at LW aren't bad. Prazeres being 20-2 when they fought, Magomedov 18-1. Hooker caught him early, in round 1. I don't think Dan would've won that had it lasted longer. Though he was too drained for LW by that point.

Add on top his zhoo zhits accolades, I think it's OK to expect him to beat Zat who's not really a proven commodity yet.
See the mistake you made here is taking TS's argument as rational and reasonable.

Strange argument to use as justification for picking khamzat.

I see what you mean but the khamzat hype has never been based in strength lf schedule. No meteoric hype train ever is. It's based on his performance within those fights, albeit against unranked or low ranked opposition

He has a point tho. Maia, Woodley and Thompson, at the times they fought Burns, were well past their best before dates.

They are all great fighters, you're right but they weren't at their greatest when they fought Burns.

Great fighters, in their prime though?

<BC1>

He's a BJJ world champ with explosive striking and trains at a very good camp. With that said he's still a blown up LW. I hepsect him but Chimaev is going to kill him.

I didn't see many picking Burns but he's still one of the best in the division. If Khamzat smashed Burns he deserves a title shot.

Because he's a great fighter with world class grappling? Still expecting Chimaev to beat him, but he's hardly a scrub.

I can see the argument that he has greatly improved his career at welterweight but at the same time, who has he really beat?

- 50 year old Demian Maia
- Post Usman defeated Woodley
- Wonderboy who he hugged onto for his dear life + punched the back of the head. Belal remember the averageness dominated Wonderboy after that.

Had a decent first seconds of the first round vs Usman, proceeded to get his chin cracked and ass beat.

And people are expecting him to beat Chimaev?

It won’t even be competitive. Remember this thread when it’s all said and done.

Imagine a Khamzat Chimaev fan posting "who has he really beat?" about another fighter? Try answering that question about Khammy.

< 8 years in the ufc
< 1.5 years in the ufc

not a fan of wish.com Khabib just stating facts big baby

Oof.
Doubling down.
So you believe your own bullshit and you're not just a troll.
It is what it is homie.
How are facts bullshit, exactly?
If you claim that any of the guys he beat were in their prime, you are simply trolling or beyond delusional.

Sorry but this doesn't seem to make any sense? What are you trying to say?
One has been in the UFC for nearly a decade, has not beaten anybody in the top 5 in their prime if we speak of the Welterweight division. Meanwhile you say that Khamzat hasn’t beaten anybody while he just entered the UFC, lmao.

Among all of Usman's title defenses, Burns had Usman in the biggest moment of trouble (though Covington performed better against Usman overall)

LOL. If Khamzat had beaten, not mention even faced, that level of competition . . . you/the hype-train would be screaming PERMA-GOAT! . . . LOL. Yet Burns does it and you don't get why he's respected.

Didn't this guy get stopped in round one by Dan Hooker?
