Why is Gilbert Burns so highly regarded in here?

LOL. If Khamzat had beaten, not mention even faced, that level of competition . . . you/the hype-train would be screaming PERMA-GOAT! . . . LOL. Yet Burns does it and you don't get why he's respected.

Because he's at the top of the division and he challenged for the title? It's absurd how his win against Woodley is suddenly irrelevant. It's not like Woodley looked any better in the Usman fight.

Plus, we haven't seen Khamzat against elite competition yet, although granted he's smashed everyone he's faced so far.

> lets just use same sentences than others in the thread to stay relevant on the sherdogs
what?
the argument the TS was making that gilberts wins arent legit coz their opponents werent impressive which is why he has no chance against chimaev
so i threw that back at khamzats record which isnt decorated with very impressive opponents either.

He's being hyped because he's fighting Khamzat. If/when he loses, it will be "Burns was never that good! Who has he beat? He's a blown up lightweight!" etc etc

Remember all those threads praising Meerschaert? What happened to those people?

Who’s picking a lightweight to beat a guy who wrestled at 205?

Edit: technically 92 kilograms which is converted to 202 lbs.

Check what I replied to a other similar comment

how can you expect somebody who has been in the ufc for a little over year to have top caliber wins? Since when has that ever happened?

maybe Overeem and a few special cases who got a big fight straight away but they were decorated MMA fighters by that point

Also Khamzat nearly died from covid otherwise he'd probably be champion by now.

Because , unbelievably, most fans cant wrap their heads around concept that from 170 & up - the lack of depth has not only arrived but it had quite sometime ago.

Sadly, Burns is a top welter in 2022.

It is what it is.

Ah yes, the classic thread where TS makes up a fact just so he can discred it.

Been some weeks since I last saw this type of discussion.

I can see the argument that he has greatly improved his career at welterweight but at the same time, who has he really beat?

- 50 year old Demian Maia
- Post Usman defeated Woodley
- Wonderboy who he hugged onto for his dear life + punched the back of the head. Belal remember the averageness dominated Wonderboy after that.

Had a decent first seconds of the first round vs Usman, proceeded to get his chin cracked and ass beat.

And people are expecting him to beat Chimaev?

It won’t even be competitive. Remember this thread when it’s all said and done.

Completely agree with you, Burns is MASSIVELYYYYYYYY overrated, and I have no idea why.

Khamzat will make it look easy, and I say this as someone who doesn't really like him, and wants him to get humbled.

You're pretending I have something against Khamzat? I'd love for him to be champ, and to liven up the top of the division a bit. So find some other adult male (and some other way of asking them) to kiss your feet ;) I just like the fighters/champs I root for to have earned it.

Khamzat's biggest flaw is his obnoxious fans.

Aren't most people picking Khamzat to win?

Yeah, who's picking burns over chimaev???

He's aggressive and he's talented.
