Why is Dana so opposed to GSP vs. Khabib

Because he can barely control Khabib and he cant control GSP at all. GSP is going to want them to spread the legs wide for his long awaited return

Because Gsp is one of the only fighters that screwed Dana and not the other way arround.

It's not that Gsp didn't defend his mw belt.

I mean Dana doesn't hate conor nor Bisping for this

GSP burned the UFC in the past

He wants to come back, he will have to prove his worth

Prove his worth? Are your serious, any PPV with him sells thousands.

But Dana is a cheap cunt and he will never make a super fight, his track record for superfights is SHIT.

GSP wins he'll leave with the title.
Khabib wins he'll leave with the title.

So who cares.

yeah, who care about actual fight between the two best wrestlers ever.

fucking casuals.

I always hated Dana for not doing these kind of fights

We know gsp supposedly walked away and was supposed to fight whitaker ..

but in the grand scheme of things .. who gives a shit ??

he is UFC material... HOF fuqn GOAT status and you wanna not see the fight ?

s it because it hurts the brand ? have a guy come out of "retirement" and beat a dominant champ ? does that take away from what we seen Khabib do ?

we wanted Jones vs. Silva ( think we know now Jones woulda won) but still

Gsp Vs. Silva ( Hard Call but probably Silva due to GSP being timid and scared to shoot .. )

Fedor vs. Brock ( who knows UFC probably would have let brock juice the fuck out to get the W)

fuck Dana I've been watching since a kid when you had to go to the unrated section and get a VHS tape ..

what's the real deal behind not making these fights ???

cause I don't know, and blaming the fighters for not making the deal is BS ..

ok done crying now ... break time is over

GSP is nearly 40 years old. It'd be stranger if Dana wanted to promote a fight between a young undefeated star and a guy who was once a GOAT but is now old and retired (with one fight in six years).

LW division is one of the hottest in the UFC, so it's kind of important to have a champ who will defend their belt

I actually think doing GSP vs Khabib at WW non-title after the LW champ is decided is a good plan

Because Dana hates GSP, and works very hard to make sure nobody thinks he's the GOAT. if you dont think he's the goat that's fine, but its hard to deny how blatantly Dana shills against him and how hard he is willing to go to do so. If GSP were to win this fight then how is Dana gonna spin it?

Thats the answer folks y'all can end the discussion. Its not about walking away with belts especially with khabib retiring and the ability to make this fight with no belt. Its not about money as there ain't more than maybe 1 fight that can make more money and thats only if morons wanna see canner magobbler again

Also sidenote, if Dana thought khabib would win he would make the fight. Doesnt mean GSP wins, but its clear Dana thinks so

Because GSP is one of the most boring fighters ever

I have a hard time believing Khabib will control GSP on the ground at all, let alone to the extent he did his last three opponents.

Sprawl & brawl GSP makes this fight extremely close, using movement and sharpness to give us the fight we expected Conor to give us but could not.

Would be curious as to how the bookmakers opened on this one, my money would be on GSP if he was any kind of outsider.

Younger GSP beats Khabib in my opinion, and fairly easily -- simply too much size difference.
Current GSP loses to Khabib (and most UFC WW's) because he's almost 40 and has had one fight in six years. People are picturing 32 year old GSP fighting Khabib, but unless there's a time machine around, that's not an option. GSP is now old and very rusty, a horrible combination.

I can't imagine paying to watch that fight given GSP's age. And though of course many people would pay anyway, I suspect enough people are like me (ie think that age matters) that it'd make a big cut into revenues.

perhaps not prove his worth as a draw

but prove his worth that he is going to be a fighter, and not a one-off

I don't get it either, as this would be Khabib's last fight. Probably last for both. One big splash of a PPV to cap those off.

Its a one off no doubt, but its the fight everyone wants to see. Dana sometimes is just to stupid to accept the risk, he knows Khabib can still fight again and if GSP wins that could harm Khabib value, but not in my mind. Khabib has a huge draw with Russians and that will not change any time soon and losing to a monster like GSP is not that back

Look at Conor, he lost to worse bums and he still has a bunch of nutthuggers willing to pay for his ppv

Dana apparently can't see that GSP vs Khabib would be the biggest fight in MMA history. He's got some stupid vendetta against GSP, and sticks his nose up at catchweight fights. Dumb.

Cause its a stupid fight? Khabib is/was champ at 155, GSP was champ at 170/185, also he stiffed them last time and had zero plans of defending even though he said he would...

If they wanna fight so bad then fight outside of the UFC, neither of them plan on being UFC fighters anymore, so create a 1 off event somewhere and market the shit out of it.

Both live outside of the USA so lawsuits shouldn't be much of a problem.

Bisping value significantly decreased when he lost to GSP

then GSP retired, UFC lost out

luckily Whittaker regained some legitimacy for the belt by beating some monsters

Dana doesn't love GSP. Remember how angry he was after the Hendricks fight?

Dana has kind of hated GSP since he took the middleweight title and left, despite saying he would defend it. (due to medical reasons).

He doesn't want a repeat of that. But what I don't get is why can't they just make it an exhibition.

Some fights don't need a title to make them worth a main event. This is one of them IMO
He’s hated him longer than that, remeber. The “he’s not coming to the press conference he’s in the hospital “ after the Hendricks fight lies??

there is no one to blame here but GSP.

GSP lied, saying he would defend the MW title and did not.

GSP said he would drop to LW and has now changed his mind.
