The whole Jones-Stipe-Aspinall debacle was an epic UFC clown show -- that begat Tom Gane fiasco.

Considering he is supposed to have eye surery, an interim belt isnt crazy at all, having said that, who would fight for it? winner of Lewis vs Waldo against Gane? Jones wont be given that chance considering he WONT fight Aspinall, they dont like double champs anymore so they wouldnt strip Pereira for an interim title.

Tom won an interim title that was promoted to full time title. That followed Francis ditching the belt, Jones beating Gane, Jones defending against Stipe, Jones wanting to fight Alex. If Tom does not agree to a fight date by the end of April he should be stripped. UFC might as well make Jones vs Alex for the HW title for the White House card.

the current holder never won the undisputed title, never defended it and he's constantly upgrading his situation by announcing some other months away from training for reasons never fully clarified: to put it in perspective the guy had like less than two fights in two years.
In comparison Jiri vacated for an injury that took him away just for six months.
