Why Francis is so concerned about money?

Because people make so much more doing fuck all (Youtubers, Youtube Fighters, Boxers, NFL, NBA, literally every other major sport)

UFC does not split revenue equally with fighters

Then why doesn't Ngannoue go become a YouTube star of NBA player?

I mean Fury vs. Wilder each got a 5mill base and shared PPV points (the lion's share not UFC 0.25% after x number buys BS) to prob net ~30mill each for both of their last two fights. Now Ngannou vs. Jones would probably sell at least x2 the clip of Fury-Wilder but they'd both probably take home much less than the 5m base pay than those two, at least surely Francis (they'd rip him off as much as possible giving him maybe 1-2 mill imo).

Jones vs. Ngannou would be more in line to Joshua vs. Fury in terms of hype/buys, which was a guaranteed 100mill for each when it was going to be made before the Wilder rematch clause.

Yeah, I'd be salty too in Ngannou's shoes. The fact that the mouthbreathers on this forum justify UFC fighter pay and think it's normal for top 5 UFC fighters within their divisions to make less than that California metro janitor who was taking overtime to get to 250-300k$ is pretty sad. It's not like this is a fringe sport, the UFC has entered U.S. mainstream sports yet pays the majority of their fighters less than what some poor eastern euro countries, where the minimum citizen wage is like 200$/month, pay their soccer players.

If the UFC didn't exist then he would be earning exactly ZERO DOLLARS with the UFC. He is free to go somewhere else and try to present his worth in another career.

He wants to be paid what he's worth.

He's in an organisation that gives LESS to it's athletes as a % of income than ANY other major sport in the world.

He's putting his health at risk every fight. Asking for a fair days pay is pretty normal.

You don't get to force people to expect less and suggest they outta just be grateful for scraps because they come from Africa, when they are representing a worldwide, but mostly USA corporation. He's the heavyweight champ. Pay the man Dana.

Nobody is forcing him to do anything. He's a grown man. He can quit at any time and go do whatever he wants.

Why not go join any other major sport?

Like someone said in this thread, you only have a small window of opportunity to excel in athletics/MMA and than you have to retire. If you are still active in your 40s, that would be very impressive.

But highly unlikely and even if you were you're not in your prime anymore.

So make as much money as you can while you are still relatively young and in and around your prime. Get out and invest and use your money you made wisely.

He is 35, so even at heavy weight his prime is about to end.
Only has like 6 more years of earning in him.
A lot of black guys say he looks way older than that. Refugees often make themselves younger in a new country, to gain some benefits from the state.

Someone tells him that if he actually fights, he makes more money. Should learn from Arlovski.

Francis is rightfully fighting for an equitable check for the CTE sport that he sacrifices in. Which is why he is champ- he has made sacrifices and worked hard to get better. He probably doesn't yet have enough to retire; he has a lot of expenses to pay out of his earnings. Dana did nothing but include him in the UFC so that the org would make money; lol acting like they did him a favor and he should be thankful. He has ZERO to thank Dana for; Dana counts the money he earns from these guys at night. It's a business arrangement, and Dana would have never let him in or kicked him out quickly if he weren't earning money for the company.

Wtf are you talking about?

a fool and his money are soon parted

A tale as old as time.
If you are poor and come into money its really hard not to go spending sprees and lose it all.

Goes out a lot faster than it comes in. Especially when you're not active, 1 fight a year isn't going to cut it.

That's not entirely his fault however. He won't sign the new UFC deal and they use the championship as leverage (auto contract extension). Even if he somehow fights it out and still never signs a new contract, the UFC still has the ability to match whatever offer he gets. If he's smart that'll be a 1-off boxing deal with such big offer the UFC wouldn't dare.

it's prizefighting, you fight for a prize and want the prize to be as big as possible. Hope that helps

He should be grateful from what he have now, why people are becoming so ungrateful and greedy more they get rich?

I would praise dana everyday if i was in his position

it's above me....

this is the most cuck thing I’ve ever read good lord...

1. Be as active as possible. instead of fighting once a year. Try 2-3 times per year. The people like active champions instead of bench warmers

2. Be a champion. Champs make 500k at least in purse money excluding sponsorships.
So all you're saying is a fighter has to be that 0.1 percent with the innate abilities to be a champ and they have to burn their prime faster taking on prime opponents 3 times a year and increasing chance of injury, burnout and taking career shortening damage.

How are you not an adviser to fighter with nuggets of wisdom like that?

He's a world champ and probably world champ for a short period, why would he not want the most he can get in a sport that famously gives the least of any major sports?

He's the champ, he's the most exciting, he hits the hardest... what more does he need to do to get paid in your eyes? Just being glad you're there is for prelims fighters, Francis is a world champ and should be compensated as such. Maybe he is just terrible with money too, our knowledge of his deal is F all, but there's plenty of reason to be concerned about money.

Anthony joshua and deontay wilder both fought 4 times in a 12 month span when they won their titles. For joshua that 4th fight was against klitschko.
