Why don't the Gracies get held to account for all their Bullshido?

It is one of the great paradoxes of the Gracie legacy. They arguably had the single biggest role in showcasing the difference between effective martial arts, and nonsense that just doesn't work.

And yet, the reality is they've promoted tons of absolute garbage. I came across this "rape defence" video from Rorion Gracie the other day. It's completely laughable.

Because they run a cult. If you call them out on their shit, even the consistently fraudulent ones, thousands of people come to bully you.
I don't know if I would go so far as to call it a cult. In fact, I just sacrificed a chicken to Egidio Lasjovino and asked him if the Gracies were a cult. He assured me they are NOT.

I saw what appeared to be a dummy pistol at one of the well known Gracie schools in Brazil. There were some visitors from north america and Europe but nobody made fun of it. The Gracie family has an answer for all possible confronting situations and they get students to practice what they think is effective.

Rorion seems to be serious about building confidence in these women. The techniques may not work 100% against the men who know jiujitsu but they might help prevent the crime.

The problem with self defense, it's that you believe that under the biggest pressure you can get (being litterally attacked) you will remember what to do step by step (oooh baby!) to defend yourself. Stuff that you just have drilled, not used

But at least bjj is a sport and by practicing the sport you learn deeply and you increment automatism in your brain

If I'm ever attacked in real life, I will be more than happy to get a good underhook or a kimura grip and follow up with it because I've done it a couple thousand times in live rolling.

Not sure if I will remember the kubotan self defense seminar I did in 2017

The video is teaching some good principles.
Rorian has also said that "a women, with any amount of training is going to have a hard time against a man".
So he is not deluding them.
They have put out more laughable bullshido.

The irony is many in this forum still believe the ultimate Gracie Bullshido- that it is 'the best style for self defence'.
What if you face 2 people? LoL.

Even decent boxing or Kyokushin Karate was always better than BJJ for most self defence situations. Learn to hit hard, take a hit, and situational awareness is what its about.

In fact, I have another question. Why aren't the Gracies in jail? If I were behaving that badly and delusionally I'd be in jail or a psych ward.

Wow. Really? "Don't hurt me I'll do whatever you want" followed by Pillow Elbows and Air kicks. :p

Because they have a cult following and other than the usual bullshido salesmen, they also possess some actual skill and good techniques. That's why their bullshido, lies and shameless advertising usually gets overlooked.

Cause they went on to prove their bullshit… while the old combatives isn’t any different than most bs sd crap, they were actually fighting people at the time when most real fighting was done at tv on movies, meaning there wasn’t

Listen guys, smartphones have existed for over a decade now, you can go on worrlllstar at any time and see how things work 'on teh streets'.

So with that in mind, you'd think at some point you'd find examples of one of those millions of paying customers over the years get into an altercation on camera, and pull off their premium kravbatives/yellow bamboo/systema moves on [generic urban tough unit no.0181956] while everyone claps, right?

Only, it seems like you can never find any...
