Agree sherdog was better in the 2000s, although it was the wild wild west and we would have flamewars instead of a heavily controlled oc environment with some rogue and egotistical mods thread intervening.


I still think sherdog is good enough to visit, but not daily perhaps anymore and that has to do with lower ufc card quality, overzelous mods and just a loss of interest in general in being so up to date with a pseudo sport ru

in general, MMA media has always sucked. maybe 1-2 decent journalists, but it's cage fighting. you don't need to convey a whole lot to get the point across. we get it.

i would say the problem with modern sherdog was their hilariously 2FA debacle. that one gutted the user base and directly contributed to lots of posters dropping off completely, their insight, actual wisdom, nuggets of gold, gone. used to see so many better posters in these threads, now all the dumb ones who hop on new technology and control their thermostats through their wives boyfriends tail plug are the ones making daily threads. i noticed right after 2FA the number of people on the site went down by hundreds in primetime hours and so did their posts. it's basically the worst of the worst left now.

I've been coming to this site daily since 2005. It used to be, in my opinion, the best place to get news and information for MMA.
I still very much enjoy and appreciate the Fight Finder, but the articles are really suffering. The quality of "journalism" has declined BADLY.

In the very first sentence of this article, there are two mistakes.
They get dude's name wrong (It's Magomed, not Magomedov) and they say that he was "recently" spotted on camera.
This is from the Dagestan Chronicles in 2018!!! That's SEVEN YEARS AGO....

It seems like Sherdog has followed the path of so many other "news" sources.
No integrity or accountability. Just mistake-filled clickbait.

MMA sucks now. This place used to have new interesting threads daily, now we have the same stale threads on the first page for weeks at a time. I blame the lack of good MMA in general for that, though.

i monitored for weeks before 2FA was rolled out. consistently 500+ users a night, during peak hours. right after 2FA, that number dipped into the low 200s and stays there. during big PPVs, users way up. but besides that this place is dead. the threads that came out after 2FA, only the most dumbest retard AVs/users i recognized were making threads and shitting them up. and it's been that way since then. i dont remember the user names, i remember AVs, and how shitty posts are. so many shitty AVs these days. all the good guys left.
