Why do you think the UFC won’t strip Jon Jones?

There is multiple reasons why strap in for the conspiracy

Dana has glazed Jon Jones for years, he’s the goat blah blah blah,

UFC has been lacking true stars for years whether we like it or not Ronda and Conor were the last big stars of the UFC, as much as they marketed Amanda after the Ronda match causals still didn’t know who she was. With Jones they like to market him and the be all end all goat because he hasn’t lost minus the DQ, and looks dominant everyone he fights minus (Reyes Gus Thiago ETC) Izzy and Alex came close with the causal audience but both are no longer champ,

Basically even though they could make a star out of Tom and make him the next Fedor and boost the UK market for years they won’t because of Dana’s hard on for Jones

No they arent, Jon signed a new 8 fight deal before the Gane fight. He's not going anywhere whether he's champ or not.

They arent stripping him cause they dont have to, he's biggest name they got at HW and they are willing to let him do this shit for the last few fights of his career.

Now if he refuses this Tom fight at in 2025 they will take the title, no way we go this whole year without Jones fighting and keeping the belt but I do think they'll let him go another year from last Nov to this nov holding the belt in order to secure the Tom fight.
You sincerely think this is about what Jones wants to do lol. The UFC will do what they want with that situation when they feel its beneficial. Jones has turned down a single short notice fight in a massive career. Which do you think is more likely the UFC trying to book Jones the fights thar they can milk the most or Jones controlling the matchmaking

Of course the UFC will do what they feel is best and Jones is one of the last stars in a div that has a big fight right there and they are willing to give Jones way more leeway than others because of it. UFC thinks they can get this done, if/when it becomes clear they cant then they will act and force that belt off Jones but they'll let him go a year between Gane and Stipe and they'll let him go another year from Nov to Nov if thats what he wants to do cause they want the fight with Tom made. If Jones wont fight by the end of the year then they'll move on from him/it.

This has got to be the biggest “I swallow Jon” post that I’ve ran across this week.
He works for the UFC. It is literally his job to post that shit. Which is why he has made literally hundreds of posts on the topic.

Why the hell would they be in any form of rush to put a GOAT unquestionably against a guy who never put asses in PPV seats and if he loses once absolutely wont again?

He bought himself a lot of time, and he is still a draw for the UFC, they will give him every bit of time they can, and he happens to have fought not that long ago, to be honest its on Aspinall to push on it, how? Fighting, he hasnt fought for a while, needs to fight asap and push for the unification fight after, if fight does not happen the UFC will most likely strip Jones and promote Aspinall or put the title up for grabs as a replacement fight for Jones vs Aspinall, that one isnt happening soon.

Not stripping him if he continues to avoid the Aspinall fight is a different question than not having stripped him up to this point, which one are you asking?

They'll give him this year to take the fight, Nov/MSG is probably the latest they'd be willing to accept to get the fight done but after that no way Jones is HW champ going into 2026 if he refuses this fight.

biggest concern with that would be pushing it down the road that far is just begging the mma gods to ruin it with an injury or something. This shit should happen in Aug but we'll see.

...one piece of intellectual honesty that would make the truth self evident and it not a progressive discussion. So let’s address the matter objectively so we can remove the pro wrasslin mindset and have a greater degree of understanding.
That's a hell of a word salad sherbro. The only fans with a 'pro wrasslin' mindset are Jones apologists who think he should be able to choose his own next fight instead of unifying the belt because 'entertainment dollars are more important than a real ranking system (aka a real sport)'. Go back to the WWE and leave mma for the ones who care about keeping it a legit sport

This guy legitimately thinks that the UFC seems to have no incentive to cater to Jon's whims and that Jon is a completely powerless and therefore, blameless party in the situation. He actually laughs off that idea.

There's no talking to him past that point, so no reason to bother.

because he's an asset. why else?

if there were more than one star in the HW division they likely would pressure him to keep fighting. Tom would have no one else to fight if Jon Jones doesn't fight him.

Why would the UFC strip an active Jones for an inactive Tom?

Fuck you guys are dumb.
Fuck off with that nonsense. Who's had more fights in the past few years... Tom, or Jon?

And it's kind of hard for Tom to fight, when Jones is scared to sign the fight agreement. Tom was ready to go in November, and has been ready ever since. 100% Tom would fight on 24 hours notice, and he's also said he will fight ANYONE as long as the Undisputed title is up for grabs.

And if you think Tom should have to fight someone else until Jon is ready, what justification do you have for that? How many interim title defenses does he need before you shills think he is worthy of a unification bout?

Last true American star in the UFC. At a time when the UFC is negotiating a new broadcast deal, it's easier to sell executives on your heavyweight champion being Jon Jones, a guy with a large crossover name and following, than one of the former Soviets with hard to pronounce names who are taking over the promotion.

Tom Aspinall?

Because the fact it didn't already happen a long time ago tells me it never will.

They should have stripped him (again) when he tore his shoulder. They would have stripped Dominick Cruz, right?

$$$$$

There might also be a champions clause that'll prevent him from signing elsewhere while he's champion. It'll be a game of chicken as to who might blink first. Randy Couture "resigned" as champion so he could quit to hunt for a potential fight with Fedor if I recall correctly.

Why isn't Dana vacating the title of their most storied division for the second time in a row? Really? This is the question?

This is worse than Canelo ducking Benavidez.
