Why do people want stipe to fight jones?

Stipe's age is a problem, he hasn't fought in forever, and his last fight was a brutal knockout loss - then there's the fact that he couldn't do anything against Ngannou. Between all that it seems pretty open-and-shut that this will be a layup fight mainly for Jones to get the prestige that comes with all of Stipe's accolades

Agree that age is an issue, but I'm not convinced this is a gimme. Stipe came in way light against Francis, which was bad strategy. I don't see that fight as being relevant because Jones and Francis are very different guys. Taking time off to let the head heal is the right move for Stipe. We'll see.

This you can't expect honesty from them they are called haters for a reason.

Stipe is literally the most skilled heavyweight in the division and is a much bigger name than anyone else. I would rather see Jon take on stipe than an unproven heavyweight. Jon is too big of a name to punch down, which is what we got at the end of his light heavyweight run. Stipe is the fight we've all wanted to see and Stipe is the fight to make.

Negative. Stipe is a shell of his former self. Guys like Pavlovitch or w/e his name is, and Tom Aspinal would beat him. This is a Gimme fight for Jon Jones.

The UFC is just giving Jones softballs at HW like No ground game Gane and now old Stipe coming off a KO loss as it seems they don't believe he can beat the top contenders

Shame that the UFC seems to be protecting Jones from the top contenders at HW like Tom & Pav

They need to have more faith that Jones could beat Tom & Pav, they shouldn't be protecting him, Jones is capable of beating those top contenders but it is strange the UFC doesn't think so

Because I'm entitled to an opinion just like any other fan. And my judgement isn't clouded with hate and bias to the point where I'd rather campaign to rob REAL mma fans of a fight between two GOATS. Stipe is the biggest fight at heavyweight for Jon and the most skilled, no I don't want Jon to fight someone beneath him.

Protecting him from lesser skilled fighters? Stipe is great everywhere he's the best striker/wrestler and overall mma fighter at heavyweight. You would have to be absolutely delusional to think that stipe is a soft ball. He is the hardest fight in the division with ngannou gone and this fight makes perfect sense because it takes a fighter who's great everywhere to even match Jones which I think stipe is the only fighter at heavyweight who won't get walked through by Jon exploiting some weakness because as I said before stipe is not only well rounded but skilled everywhere.
