Why did Dana let Conor boxe but not Ngannou?

Lol what do you Conor nuthuggers always mean “He’s bigger than the sport”? The UFC was around before Conor and will be fine without him, remember it’s Conor who wants the UFC, not the other way around lol Conor fanboys are delusional.
You’re retarded, and you’re clearly emotional about Conor.

Dana offered Ngannou more money than he paid Brock. Ngannou was going to be paid more than anybody besides Conor. I'm not sure how you can possibly say this.

Ngannou just didn't like that if he lost to Jones he no longer kept making that level as he'd lose his championship pay bonus. Which no shit. He wouldn't be champion anymore, and he's not some massive draw.

The guy with the massive ego was Ngannou, and fair play to him that it seems to have worked out.

Lol another spin UFC shill post from you. What a "massive ego" to not trap yourself in another 5 year contract where you can never take a boxing fight, the promoter keeps you inactive, and constantly shits on you.

Brock fought over a decade ago, I would hope they would be offering more now. The UFC was offering less than what he just made in boxing. He would have made significantly less and never had been able to pursue his dream of boxing if he had signed a new contract with them.

Save yourself some time and realize that the answer to any Dana related question is always "because Dana is a fucking idiot"

I shit on the UFC all the time. I constantly say I have no idea who half the fighters are anymore cause the cards are watered down garbage and so I don't even bother watching them.

Like most conspiracy nuts though once you think you've seen a "pattern" you disregard everything else that doesn't fit, conveniently leaving you with just your conclusion.

Sad.

How can anyone believe this? Conor was representing the UFC in his boxing bout, UFC made more money from that than Conor did. Francis was representing himself against Fury. Conor never defeated the UFC, Francis did.

IIRC Francis made 10 million for the fury fight. Conor made at least 30 million Thus Francis didn’t outsmart McGregor in terms of bottom line dollars & cents. I still say that Dana should’ve attempted to book Fury v Francis until the PPV or disclosed salaries prove otherwise, but ain’t no way Mayweather b McGregor wasn’t big business for everyone including Conor.

Francis didn’t make 10
I think it’s common knowledge he made 10 million https://www.mmamania.com/2023/9/9/2...ayday-all-of-a-sudden-hes-a-genius-ufc-boxing

Edited: Sherdog isn’t showing my link for McGregor’s purse, at least on my end. But y’all can google it.

the irony is, if they just took the risk, Dana would've been able to use Ngannou's leverage right now to start his Zuffa boxing or whatever it is he wanted.
As much as I shit on Dana, I actually don't blame him for this one in particular. Hindsight says he lost out but at the time there was no way he could know Francis was a good enough boxer that this wouldn't be a complete embarrassment. He believed in Conor's boxing, which turned out to be surprisingly awkaward, but he didn't know about Francis' boxing, which turned out to be surprisingly decent.

I do blame Dana for shitting on Francis, being petty, trying to defame him and put obstacles in his way. He could have opted to part ways on good terms. But let's face it - if Dana was that emotionally mature he wouldn't be Dana!

Unlike mcgregor though this fight is the start of more fights with other boxers that will bring in even more money. So ngannou will likely earn more in the longer run.

Francis was all about himself and didn’t consider Dana or the ufc but came as he did to most things in life with his hand outstretched saying gimme gimmie gimmie. McGregor was smarter than Francis and was able to negotiate a deal that was both profitable to the ufc and McGregor.
Francis was smarter- he cut out the middle man and kept all of his money.

<{vega}>

Francis made 13x LESS than Conor did for their respective bouts, in large part precisely because he didn't have the UFC behind him co-promoting him.

Please never ever go into business.
