Why did Dana let Conor boxe but not Ngannou?

Simply put they knew Conor and Floyd would do millions in PPV and make a boat load on sponsorships for that fight. Dana had a relationship with Floyd before that on top of it. Francis just wasn't a big enough draw to go through it all. I also think the UFC after the Conor/Mayweather have more or less said behind the scenes they are done with this venture.

I don't like Conor at all, but it's pretty easy to see what that means. People bought some cheap crappy whiskey because Conor put his name on it. He didn't need to fight to make money anymore.
That literally doesn’t mean he’s bigger than the UFC though, I fail to see how. I don’t need to fight in the UFC for money, doesn’t make me bigger than the sport.

I think this it's Dana Biggest Mistake as a Fan I'm Sad we lost a legendary Fight Ngannou vs Jones because of Dana Ego.

Dana offered Ngannou more money than he paid Brock. Ngannou was going to be paid more than anybody besides Conor. I'm not sure how you can possibly say this.

Ngannou just didn't like that if he lost to Jones he no longer kept making that level as he'd lose his championship pay bonus. Which no shit. He wouldn't be champion anymore, and he's not some massive draw.

The guy with the massive ego was Ngannou, and fair play to him that it seems to have worked out.

I think the question was why Dana didn't let Ngannou box while he was under contract, or during negotiation for extension, why he didn't allow him, as he did Conor. Yeah, I know he wasn't understand contract, but a big part of why he left was because he wanted to box while also fighting MMA. Dana/UFC didn't give him that option, while PFL did.

Connor was the all time MMA PPV draw going up against the all time boxing PPV draw, everyone wanted it and they were cutting UFC in on the profits.

Francis didn't have a fight lined up, wasn't a major draw and didn't want to copromote so it was a different situation.

Dana hates Francis, he made negotiations personal...so unprofessional. He said that Francis will never fight in the ufc again

It's an incomplete sentence. That he's outgrown the sport doesn’t mean that he is worth more than the sport, it means he can make more money outside the sport than in it, and as an aside, the sport cannot make just as much with somebody else.

Even the fighters who claim they're getting ripped off and their "fair share" is so much higher, the UFC can still make just as much or more with somebody else.

Right, he also said wimmenz will never fight in the ufc.

Allowing Francis to do it would give massive leverage to fighters nowhere near Connors revenue bringing levels. You would have every other Tyron Woodley diva being a nightmare to deal with.

Ngannou believed in himself as he should but the UFC cant just make concessions to champs who dont sell just because, especially when you would have them staining the UFC product by going to boxing and embarrassing themselves.
exactly.

it probably wasn’t a good idea for them to let conor do it either, but obviously he is in a different bargaining position. conor earned around $130 million for that fight, and it was the 2nd highest grossing boxing ppv ever (4.3 million buys) after maypac (4.6 million) and only by a slim margin. not sure how nggano vs fury did in ppv, but it’s safe to assume it’s nowhere near that.

for reference, fury vs wilder 2 did about 850k ppv buys in 2020.

they will try to do so with khamzat but his language barrier and doubtful gas tank may prevent him from that platinum status exclusive dana white privilege.

Conor Made 100 million, Francis made 10 million...so it was not about money..Francis told the truth about Dana directly, Conor told the truth indirectly. Dana liked Conor, but, not Francis, because Dana has a history going after those who expose him for what he is....its not like we don't know by now.
Francis didn’t make 10
