Year of the photo: 2011... 2 Knee surgeries and inactivity later and I doubt he can make it out of the 1st round. If I knew I was getting the 2011 version of Cruz I would take him any day over Dillashaw. But who knows how he'll perform.

Just rewatched some cruz fights. I'm afraid Dillashaw has blown way past how good cruz used to be. The talent pool was small when he was champ. his greatest win was MM and he looked two divisions bigger than him.
If Cruz makes the fight Dillashaw will make him look ordinary.

I think the fight outcome depends entirely on how Cruz looks when he comes back. If he looks just as good as he once was, I think he takes it handily.

Agreed. Cruz has never even fought let alone beat anyone on Barao or TJ's level. He got knocked down multiple times by Faber who is a step below both those guys.

Agreed. I honestly believe that if Cruz hasn't had such terrible injury luck he would've gotten the W against Barao and TJ already. I didn't see anyone at BW who could deal with Cruz's combination of fast/slick striking, constant movement, crazy cardio and excellent wrestling.
