The point was that even if they are so tough, it doesn't seem to be making a difference in terms of their success in the most important MMA org, or rather their total lack thereof. Hawaiin prospects like Holloway, Smolka and Medieros have shown they can't hang at any UFC level and will all most likely be cut after a few more fights, and maybe they have not been busts but with Tavarres and Browne, the best one can argue is that they have been semi successful but not truly successful. And again, there's guys like Noons, Kendall Grove and Edward Faaloloto - the latter of whom is 2-5 in MMA. Toughness clearly did not do much of anything for them.
