Why are the polynesian fighters so tough? (hawaiins, samoans etc)

Hawaiins have not proven to be tough - look at the UFC, hawaiin fighters who have been touted as prospects - Max Holloway, Yancy Medieros and Louis Smolka - have been embarrassing failures. Look at KJ Noons, Brad Tavarres,Kendall Grove, Travis Browne and Edward Faaloloto - pretty big busts as well. Hawaiin fighters are mostly lazy, undisciplined and unable to adapt to all of MMA and learn the wrestling and submisison fighting and dynamic striking they need. They are not proving to be tough fighters at all, this makes no sense. What are you talking about?

Yes, Brad Tavarres has not really been successful in the UFC or even semi successful, his last fight was just painful to watch and Larkin is still his biggest win.

7-2 in the UFC, never been finished is not even 'semi successful?'

did a hawaiin bang you girl or something lol

Wow so much stupid in one post. Holloway and Browne are failures?

Holloway? Well sort of after how he struggled just to get past a guy like Andre Filia and Travis Browne? Well his biggest wins are Barnett and a deroided Overeem so, sort of yes it seems. I also mentioned Medieros and Smolka - it was repeated how they were big Hawaiin prospects and that turned out to be laughable. Maybe Hawaiin fighters just don't have the training intensity or work ethic of UFC fighters from NY, CA or anywhere in "flyover country". The idea that Hawaiin fighters are doing well in the UFC is totally absurd.

They're not particularly tough. And Mark Hunt has been decapitated by middleweights for Christ's sake. Opala.

It's still being debated because people like you still believe since he grew up in Hawaii, he must be Hawaiian.

If a cat has kittens in the oven, it doesn't make them muffins.

His mom is Korean, his dad is American/Irish. He's not Hawaiian.

I shit myself laughing.

If by middleweights you mean one middleweight: Manhoef. Who is a freakish being capable of generating power that doesn't make sense

ethnicity and bone structure. ffs. lets not act like its a surprise that theres a shit load of pacific islanders, who share some characteristics, and one of them is being built solidly. its the same in rugby too.

Exactly, which is why I post a few days ago how a Korean lady and a White guy produce a Samoan/Polynesian looking offspring?

Troy Polamalu told me to tell you to give him a call.

The point was that even if they are so tough, it doesn't seem to be making a difference in terms of their success in the most important MMA org, or rather their total lack thereof. Hawaiin prospects like Holloway, Smolka and Medieros have shown they can't hang at any UFC level and will all most likely be cut after a few more fights, and maybe they have not been busts but with Tavarres and Browne, the best one can argue is that they have been semi successful but not truly successful. And again, there's guys like Noons, Kendall Grove and Edward Faaloloto - the latter of whom is 2-5 in MMA. Toughness clearly did not do much of anything for them.

We are talking about success in fighting organizations. Polamalu would get finished inside of two minutes by pretty much anyone in the UFC in his weight class. Is he even considered that tough by NFL standards?

Maybe Hollway can but that is about it, not Medieros, not Smolka, not Kimura, not Noons - who will probably lose his next couple fights and be cut - and probably not Russell Doanes. So there's only Holloway,Tavarres and Browne in terms of guys who can even hang at the UFC level and none who have been truly successful since Penn. And considering how Holloway struggled to get past his first UFC fight, I am still not sure. I would bet vcash he gets cut from the UFC along with Medieros, Smolka, Doanes and Kimura after their next 3-4 fights or so.

Because tens of thousands of years ago only the strongest, hugest and most badassest mainland Asian fishermans were able to paddle all the way out to and populate the Polynesian islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The weak ones either died or settled for closer islands like Japan, Okinawa, Philippines or Taiwan...thus the size differences between all these island settlers of Asian origin.
