Social Why are people so obsessed with saving a dollar?

When people make purchase decisions, they tend to think in terms of percentages. Like when people make big purchases like housing or car, they don't think in dollars, but thousands, tens or even hundreds of thousand of dollars as a unit of price. So when people buy groceries, a dollar saved for a small item is a fair chunk of the price saved, so people will find it attractive.

Everytime I go to the grocery store and there's even a 30 cent sale on something the shelf is cleared. Last time I went to buy some rice of the brand I usually get and it was all gone and on 'sale' for a dollar. Out of spite I decided to buy the most expensive rice. Why do People do this?
NPCs!

Look on your street. See all the cars in the driveway that nobody owns. Nobody bought with cash. Likely a 2nd mortgage. Wifey poos got the credit cards maxed out. Buddy is practically furniture. Oh and daddy's little girl is studying women study at some dog shit school pretending to be smart.

Pro tip. Stay along the perimeter of the grocery store. Produce, meat, and leave. If longer then 5min, you goofed.

I was poor growing up so Im thrifty. Will drive to a different walmart that has great value brand than buy the more expensive stuff....................I actually sleep in my truck at walmart..............cause they allow that.

Save a dollar by not tipping. That is the sherdog way.

There's a huge difference in saving money on items you buy every week and waiting that long in line for anything . . . free or not.
Yeah, that’s what I mean. If there is something you buy often, and you can take a minute or two to find the better price on it, that is well worth your time for the cost savings you will accumulate over time.

But wasting two hours in line for a free coffee is really not a worthwhile trade off.

Who the hell are you spiting other than yourself?

It's completely rational to stock up on an imperishable item when it's on sale. It's shortsighted not to.
Yes,but its inconvenienced him personally.

Bro, three years ago toilet paper was more valuable than diamonds.

Never underestimate the ability for civilisation to descend into Lord Of The Flies in 3.5 seconds.
