I think as well a significant issue was that Stipe at that point was still trying to fight more technically rather than bullrush as he has sucess with latter in his career.

Stipe to me is such a cool guy. Nonchalant and unbothered, good values, never kissed Dana's ass lol. And a great record too IMHO. So I will be rooting for him

Oh sure, Ngannou was totally green. He had only had 10 finishes in a row, against fighters like Overeem, Arlovski, and Blaydes.
