Who's your NBA MVP? ***UPDATE: Poll Added***

Lebron at 25-1 is pretty good odds.

all you have to do is look at Kobe's 3pt % and attempts per game..... that tells you what you need to know about his horrible shot selection. he's actually much better converting those so called 'horrible' contested midrange shots (in fact is one of the greatest guards ever at that), ableit they have one less expected ppa

then you have someone like Wade, an even worse 3pt shooter, but he smartly then didn't take many......instead he chose to spam attempts from where he was by far most efficient (0-3 ft). i think kobe is substantially more talented than wade (prime or whole career), but it's wades shot selection that makes it so close in the first place. so i can see the argument by faust or others that wade had the better peak.

bball iq (and a subset of that, shot selection) are kinda a big deal, just sayin

I actually looked it up. The discrepancy in hoops IQ is pretty remarkable when you look at Kobe

It shows you what a garbage era of the NBA we live in when people just gloss over the fact that Harden hurts his team defensively when he's on the floor.

For a guard, offense is disproportionately more important than defense.

No one bats an eye at Tragic Johnson's MVPs despite his defensive shortcomings.

This is 2015, Canti Claus.

Hardgoat is pretty decent on defense now.

lol @ hardcan being decent. he guards the other teams worst offensive option.

He has guarded every position now frequently. The way houstons roster is depleted has forced him to up his defense. During the mavs game he was guarding even nowitski regularly. But u can take whose ever word from 2013-2014 season about him not playing defense.

Are you talking in general or in MVP voting? I'm pretty sure Mark Jordan is considered the goat in large part to his defense in addition to scoring.

That's fine, but the stats being posted related to overall contribution to their team when they're both on the floor. The narrative in here is that Steph doesn't mean as much to the Warriors because he has a superior supporting cast, but the stats actually show that Steph is more important to the Warriors while on the floor than Harden is to the Rockets and that is largely in part to Harden's shoddy defense.

Is that why the Rockets are better on defense when he sits this season?

Correlation-causation, dawg.

Maybe when he sits, the other teams sit their high scorer as well. Maybe when he sits his teammates know they'll be hard-pressed to create offense so they focus on defending.

If you actually watch the games, you'll see he simply isn't a liability defending anymore.

I saw Waiters blow by Hardcan matador defense yesterday.

Why wasn't Hardcan guarding Westbrook considering he's so great defenslively this season and capable of guarding multiple positions?

Because he's trash. Easily the most unimpressive "superstar" of the modern era.

He was. The beginning of the game had ariza guarding him. The end was all harden vs westbrick. With the beard getting the edge.

You mean when Westbrick scored 9 points in the last 4 mins of the game? Lucky for Houston that Rustle missed a pair of FTs after drawing a foul on Harden with under a min left that would've cut it to a one possession game and given Brick 11 points in 4 mins

No what if or alternative scenario. The final result was harden schooling westbrick. Free throws are a part of the game. Okc really looked dumb being trashed by the nba mvp who was once their bench player.

Westbrick still scored 9 points in 4 mins on Harden, even with the missed FTs

Missing FTs has nothing to do with Harden's "improved defense"
