Who's your NBA MVP? ***UPDATE: Poll Added***

This reminds me of the year everyone thought Kidd was the mvp and Duncan won. Curry will win this year.

Even Mark Jackson who Curry stood up for when he was fired said Harden was the MVP. It rusted Stephanie too

interesting. i just hope palp can live long enough to see the day. brow/melo/candle win 78 games in the east

He just got a new Life Alert and a Pacemaker LOOMS. That said, he will probably last longer then Melo's knee. Once he loses that first step his game is fucked.

Klay is the second best SG in the league behind Harden and there's an argument he's the second best two way player in the league behind Lebald

they didn't mention any specifics all season, just said his knee was constantly sore, it's been a recurring issue. his back was pretty messed up too for a while there. i figured his summer weight loss would help but he could prob lose even more. good enough shooter to stay relevant but we've seen his best at this point

i like kawhi but his offense is nowhere near those other guys, even if his D is way better. a little overrated in nba circles imo, underrated by casuals

Klay is a better offensive player than Kawhi, but Kawhi is a much better defender. He's one of the few perimeter defenders who is in contention for DPOY. Klay is a great defender against PGs and SGs but he doesn't shut down guys like Kawhi.

They didn't because it's almost bone on bone. I think he's got a season or two at most before he starts breaking down like Brandon Roy. He could be like Pierce is now but paying max money for that is pretty brutal.

He's basically a prime Andre Igoudala

didn't know it was that serious. might have to rethink my melo-true-rose draft strategy lol

IMO, Harden has done more with less. I mean, this guy has been doing well all season without his All-Star Center and less of a supporting cast as Curry.
Curry should win it though as he brought his team to the best record in the NBA, he does more than just score.

I don't think Westbrook should get it, yes he has been impressive lately, but when it comes down to it, he played a lot fewer games than Curry or Harden.
And James took too long to gel with his teammates, they were on a horrible start. This is a whole regular season award...not a half regular season award.

but again, this is just my own opinion.

any way you spin it, klay is too good to simply gloss over as a 'one-dimensional sg'. you're not talking about THJR my dude. i'm not seeing curry do anything significantly different this year to justify klay's jump in numbers. the biggest improvement i've seen is klay's own ball-handling

I'm not denying that Klay has improved his game. He has. A lot. But the fact is his offensive game is still heavily dependent on Curry. I mean he's a catch and shoot scorer ffs. Even this season with his expanded game, he's been assisted on .684% of his FGs. To put that into perspective, Dwyne Wad has been assisted on .361% of his FGs this season.

This is Klay Thompson's shooting the last two seasons in games in which Curry didn't play:

11/08/13: 5-16
11/20/13: 9-19
11/22/13: 6-20
04/16/14: 3-5
02/22/15: 12-28
03/13/15: DNP

Total: 35-88 (.398%)

Not a big sample size, but I'm not hugely surprised Klay shoots below 40% without Curry. And it's not just Klay who's highly dependent on Curry. GSW's team eFG% this season is .560 with Curry on the floor, .495 with him off.

Again, I acknowledge Klay has improved his game, and he's a top-5 SG in the league and a perfect fit for Curry in the backcourt. He's also Curry's best offensive teammate by far. A single all-star caliber teammate =/= stacked supporting cast.

Kawhi is actually pretty diverse offensively, he's leading the team in scoring, it's just the Spurs, they don't generally have some dominant scorer. He's literally showing right now, against the Dubs, diverse moves and is all and all shitting all over them. He showed in the Finals last year that if they give him the ball, he'll score. on anybody, flatout dominated the supposed best player in the game 2 finals in a row

Plus, he's by far, and it's not even remotely close the best perimeter defender in the league, and the best overall defender as well

What SG's would ou put above Thompson outside of Harden?

I don't think you'll hear an argument that Curry is a great player but Harden has meant more to his team this season. GS is battling for the 8th spot if you take Curry off the team and Houston is battling for the number 1 pick if you take him off the Rockets
