Who's fighter of the year?

Jon Jones. It's only August and he's beaten 5 opponents already.

I'm a Cerrone fan but if he wins the title it just shows that the lightweight division is weak imo.

LW div is weak?

If Miesha beats Ron, that auto fighter of the year.

Yeah only one I'd put near that is Conor's streak if he beats Aldo too but at that point it's arbitrary which of them someone would pick.

I'm pulling for her.

Cerrone, McGregor, Joanna J isom all good. Arlovski andre Werdum can still make it. But remember, still four months to go!

I think it should be Cowboy hands down, he's been pretty active and always fights exciting fights, even when he is facing someone you could consider boring.

McGregor on the other hand...beating Dennis Siver and two-week training camp Mendes doesnt cut it for me, maybe if he can beat Aldo this year but i doubt it.

candidates depending on the end of the year results :

Luke Rockhold
Fabricio Werdum
Conor McGregor

I think Conor could do it if he beats Aldo. At this point I think Werdum would get it, though I personally don't think he has had the best year of all fighters. Winning the HW belt and beating Cain to do it would score him big points, I think.

Between:

Joanna, easily the breakout fighter of the year and world champion.

Cerrone, for his activity, win streak, and possible title win

McGregor, validating the hype by potentially beating the top two featherweights in the world.

Personally, I'm going with Joanna unless Cerrone beats RDA.

Cerrone. IMO.

Guy fights everyone and just gives zero fucks. If that's not fighter of the year then I don't know. Plus the obvious good results he has had while doing so.

Full fight:

We all know Rocky Marciano is the best!

You know that silly excuse that some fans give
about Bones beating "out if prime" LHW greats
on his way to possible GOAT considerations??

Well, that's the story behind Marciano's resume.
Boxing's best will always come down to either
Robinson or Ali & there's reasons for that.

I'd say Dempsey even has rights over Marciano
to that type of status.

OT: Hate him or love him. (I could say that I've
at least been consistently impressed & entertained
by him) but McGregor would be fighter of the year.
He's done what he said he was going to do. & even
if he doesn't beat Aldo... I'm not impressed with
Cerrone or Ronda enough to put them over Conor.
Jedjrezyck(sp?) & Werdum are good picks as well
but their impact on the MMA world obviously isn't as
dramatic. The considerations of quality of
performances, interest & competition all point to conor.

If they win their next fight and in that order : McGregor and Werdum. If they both lose, Joanna.

Yea if Conor wins he is the fighter of the year, no contest. Taking Aldos crown would almost be enough by it self considering his reign, but with Mendes and Sivert under his belt as well there is really no doubt.

You know I love your peculiar style of delivering your message, but I need to disagree with the content here.

The boxing greatest will come down to one of a few guys, but Ali is only trotted out by the uneducated, great as he was. He wasn't even the HW greatest.

Actually in a way you hit the nail on the head in your post, Marciano beat fighters who were on the downslide, and that was the only way he beat the true HW GOAT, Joe Louis. I'm certainly not the only person to rate Louis above both Marciano and Ali, as detailed in: http://coxscorner.tripod.com/alilouis.html

That's a long read, but pretty well researched with many good quotes from boxing personalities.
