In terms of people who shaped the sport in a big way, I would go with in no order:
1) Royce Gracie- proved that BJJ was the best art when you are tiny as fuck and was the OG champ
2) Fedor- 10 years unbeaten at HW while looking like a 205er is insane and was the face of PRIDE
3) GSP- one of the goats and longer reigning champs, represented Canada well
4) Anderson Silva- same as GSP
5) Jon Jones- same as 3 and 4
6) Randy Couture- champ at 43 is just insane
7) BJ Penn- paved the way for the lighter weight guys, for a long time, people didn't give a fuck about fighters who fought below 170 lbs
8) Ronda Rousey- total bitch, but she was the one who put WMMA on the map and became a cultural icon, first female UFC champ
9) Chuck Liddell- put ufc on the map in the early 00's
10) Tito Ortiz- same as Chuck, hate the man, but without him, perhaps the UFC dies, his fueds with Ken and Chuck brought a lot of eye balls to the sport
