Opinion Who will win: Hong Kong or China?

It doesn't always need to be immediate physical harm to be considered genocide.

..any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

(a) Killing members of the group;
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
— Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, Article 2

The list you gave is all about physical violence towards people.
Criminal law is interpreted narrowly.
Its not up for debate, you guys create debate where there is none.

If they had guns, the military couldn't do much since I highly doubt they would use artillery or airstrikes in the cities. They need those buildings intact. Snipers everywhere would be hard to deal with and demoralizing.
It's a lose-lose in that situation. Same thing with the Palestinans.. any use of force and it's used as an excuse to create more oppressive policies. China is bring in this security law by saying 'terrorism' is on the increase so Hong Kong needs more security (while completely ignoring the reason why citzens are using force!).

That said, they should still use force.

Same as Singapore, the Brits were responsible for making it a trade an finance hub; SG was geographically ideally situated for this. The Malays booted SG from Malaysia because they didn't want a Han Chinese minority undermining Malay domination and continuation of racial/ethnic strife between Malays and Han.

As China attains more and more power in South East Asia, they will leverage the Han Chinese minorities living in S.E. Asia . CCP agenda is to dominate East Asia then Asia then the world. CCP is a ethno nationalist party cloaking itself as Communist or Capitalist or whatever. The belief China is the Middle Kingdom that is destined to rule the world is alive and thriving with the CCP. Our corporate overlords , policy wonks and the Davos crowd built up this Nationalist warmachine called the CCP. Rather like how the West built up Saudi, Pakistan and Jihadi Islam in a bid to counter Arab secular Nationalism and the USSR.

Spot on.

French Revolution. Nazi Germany. Empire of Japan.
Old Geo strategy to take out a potential threat. Do business. Encourage them.
Let them go wild and hold the moral high ground. Maintain alliances. Obliterate them when weakened.
(Dresden and Hiroshima/Negasaki)

I love seeing English characters on eastern weapons. Western style uniforms on Asian soldiers... blue screen military parades (check it out)
Plus.

If China moves it will trip over, its too big to retain council at home. And east Asia/Sth east Asia and India will never ever be properly conquered.
Ever.

their only chance is to leave Hong Kong
since the CCP will never hand it to them
the CCP even thinks that taiwan belongs to them
how it is possible to reason with taht kind of though

bad comparison,
"any use of force and it's used as an excuse to create more oppressive policies"
"palestinians" lives under their own leadership
hong kong is now under the ccp control
they have the ccp police outside of their houses

Not to derail this thread, but I think it's a fair comparison, especially considering a lot of Palestinians live in Israeli-occupied territories.

So, you're saying there are no Palestinians living in the West Bank on land controlled by Israel?

Plus Israel has a stranglehold on the people of Gaza, like the control of essential utilities such as the supply of water and electricity, the land, sea and air blockade and restricting freedom of movement.

Anyway, I can see you have your own entrenched views on this so I don't want to 'pollute' this thread with a separate Israel/Palestine discussion.

China is of course. I've felt for awhile that wealthy Hong Kong was too attractive of a target for corrupt communist politicians to leave alone.

China will handle Hong Kong but Taiwan is a bridge too far, if they go for it they will fail

China and the CCP are a threat to the US, and the entire western world. We aren't going to war over Hong Kong, but we are going to retaliate and escalate things. The Hong Kong protestors might not have military power, but they aren't completely powerless. The CCP has been at war with the US for years. It's about time we start fighting back. It's disgusting that we have a presidential candidate with pro-China/CCP views in Beijing Biden.

Ask yourself this, do you want the CCP to be in control of Canada's natural resources and fresh water?

Canada needs a plan to prevent hostile post-coronavirus foreign takeovers, experts warn
https://globalnews.ca/news/6970044/coronavirus-foreign-takeovers-canada/

National security experts are warning that Canadian businesses struggling with the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic — and what comes after — could be easy prey for hostile foreign takeovers.

And there are growing calls for the federal government to come up with a plan to protect companies vital to the Canadian national interest from being acquired by firms tied to authoritarian regimes, including those in the medical supply industry, energy and critical infrastructure.

Hong Kong media mogul: Trump can hold China accountable by halting tech sales to country

Hong Kong media mogul Jimmy Lai said Tuesday that President Trump can help Hong Kong retain its autonomy by being tough on China and making sure the U.S. does not sell tech products to the country.

"Stop sending technology products to China," Lai, the founder of Hong Kong media company Next Digital, told FOX Business' "Mornings with Maria" said. "There are so many ways the U.S. can [help] to keep pressure [on] China to change. They can do whatever they like within their own country, but they have to follow the rules when they deal with the world outside."

He said now "is a good time" for the U.S. to retaliate against China while the country's economy "is at its worst in the last 30 years" and Chinese President Xi Jinping is in a vulnerable position. The U.S. can take the lead over the country by "changing their technology," he said.

CCP is a Minneapolis police officer.

Hong Kong is George Floyd.

CCP deserves to get shot and thrown under a bus while being set on fire, but nothing will happen to them, they will win, and life will go on.

u keep saying that u dont want to high jack the thread
so how am i supposed to answer u ?

we left gaza in 2005 hamas is in full control there
we GIVE them water and electricity for free
my views are my buisness, not yours

they can transport anything throughh water but it all must be checks by our forces since they always use this transport to buy bombs and throw them at us on weekly basis (this year it was close to 6000)

the comparison of "Palestinians" rights to hong kong in relation to the ccp is just shows a lack of knowledge since "palestinians" lives under their own police the israeli police dont go to any of A B and C
while the army does allowed to go to B but not A
I know its not sound perfectly democratic but thats was forced by all the history events especially the oslo agreements which they broke

the people of hong kong must obey any rule of the CCP while here they have their own rules under
the PNA or whatever they elected for themselves

i am for giving them full citizenship but they simply never push it anywhere, their friend inside the country having 18% power of the knesset never ever spoke about citizenship for "palestinians" citizenship rights outside of the borders, because they simply dont see themself as a part of the country

ofc they are allowed to stab once every two weeks
they allowed to run over citizens every few weeks
yet people from 100000 miles away demand their "human right" while incapable to point out on what they exactly mean by human rights we did pushed agreements that got refused with suicide bombers

arabs in israel are by far the most educated in comparison to our neighbors, those that lives under other areas can still move from one to the other with some limitations, and to jordan with some limitations

seems like u are just trying to bash israel for so called "rights" while also never mentioning that these areas are in constant war for 60-70 years
and heavy constant watch while comparing them to the ccp which take their own citizens to educational camps and taking out their organs
here they have police, they have a court
even if its not with good taste there is a transparency, so we can speak about them

thinking that u can just get into agreement with terrorist organisations as a simple walk in a park is extremely naive and proved wrong many times
we counted 4 dead in average daily for this kinds of experiments

the bottom line, ofc the democracy is not perfect, but agreement are made and rejected with brutality and everything is transparent

Steve Bannon is great on China, and his War Room Pandemic podcast is a good source of information. He brings together a lot of people across the political spectrum who have been calling out the CCP for years. He still holds a lot of influence with Trump, and he's a great advisor when it comes to China and the CCP. - #WarRoomPandemic #BeijingBiden #CPDC
