Was he a great, champion caliber fighter who's career was marred by injuries and never realized his full potential?

Was he a merely better than average fighter who was the beneficiary of oportunistic timing?

Something in between? Is he more defined to you by his great performances or his disappointments? How will you look back on Shad?

His knockout of Chuck was his defining moment. He did fuck all before that and fuck all after, unless ya count beating a paper champ like Forrest as something

Rashad was one of those guys who IMO on his best days was definitely a champion caliber fighter, but sometimes would go out there and put on a stinker or just not look too good. Like, the way he absolutely manhandled Sonnen is an example of what he can do. He was an on and off type of fighter and you never knew which Rashad you were going to see IMO.

You're a bonafide moron, so spare us your pathetic armchair criticisms.

His demolition of Chael and victories over Davis and Rampage are clearly evidence of a top level fighter.

<mma2>

He's the man that gave us this, well technically Machida made it happen. But you can't have one without the other.

Haha. His win over rampage was a lnp shitfest. His win over Phil sucked ass. Beating Chael? You're definitely a noob if ya thought that was great

He was really Cuba Gooding Jr. (in his greatest role) all along.

According to wikipedia he was an African American mma fighter. Apparently he is a former champion as well. Also saw something about him having his own trademark facial expression or something? Sounds like an interesting guy

Ya the way he dominated Phil Davis is still so damn impressive to me. But then the way he laid a huge fucking egg against Little Nog (who easily lost to Davis) is still baffling. Styles make fights, but still. Like two different guys in those battles.

Aside from Rumble when has anyone ever dominated Davis like that? He's a super hard guy to look good against or beat in decisive fashion. Rashad did the latter emphatically.

And imo you're a very limited MMA fan if you call his one-sided win over Rampage a "lnp shitfest". He put on an absolute clinic against Rampage and it was impressive as hell. Beautiful chain wrestling on display. I was hoping Rampage would knock him out, but you can't hate on Rashad just because he was superior.

lhw was evolving so quickly at the time the belt was playing hot potato. people thought machida would reign for a long ass time, then shogun ko'd machida and people thought shogun would rule for years, and then jones came along outta nowhere and became the best LHW ever. it was a shark tank

he really hasnt done anything since he lost to jones in like 2012

He promised a war and he shit the bed

He was the last of the TUF era.

Unfortunately for him he ran into Machida at a time when traditional styles were making a comeback/rise.
Anybody would have got Shadfaced at that time.

Before Machida Rashad was looking very good.

Both of your posts in this thread are purely idiotic. Spare me the "noob" comments. You know jack shit about MMA.

He was on a good run after Machida loss, still looked in top form. He was like 18-1-1 and then he went his separate ways with Jackson wink and then lost to Jones. Seems like he lost motivation after that as he's only won two fights since.

Are you sure Rashad said that? Maybe it was their intense rivalry that tacitly promised fireworks, rather than Rashad promising to play rock-em-sock-em robots? In fact, according to my memory, Rashad was rather open about what he was going to do and promised to make Rampage quit.

He did fuck all against rampage apart from hump his leg. A bit of gnp would have been nice. He basically fought for a decision. Massive let down
