Please explain how you think he pulls this off if DDP survives the initial onslaught because undoubtedly Round 2 Khamzat is not Round 1 Khamzat

I don't get why people think he can't win past round 1 when he literally won a decision against Usman who's the king of decisions. I don't agree with people saying one way for the one guy and the other way for the other guy. DDP CAN finish him early, and Khamzat CAN at least win three rounds against him out of 5.

I think this fight can go all different ways, which is what makes this a great fight. Yes it's probably more likely for the other guy how the win would look like, but the other way isn't as unlikely as some people, if not most, are making it out to be.

All I'm asking for is please not gas out early and have this snoozefest, which is ALSO a possibility.

Hoping for a great fight. Also, I don't get why people are like even talking about or even asking Khamzat questions whether he would be able to take DDP down. Obiously he can. Easy. It's just the question of whether he can scramble and not get subbed. Or what the cardio gonna look like if DDP can defend himself well if not scramble up. If I'm DDP, I wouldn't be that afraid to mix in offensive wrestling either if the opportunity is there.

May the best man win!

Literally nobody. If he doesn't win in the first round, he shouldn't win this fight.

Usman fight was a 3 rder. It was a close fight with Chimaev having a dominant 10-8 rd 1. If you look at mma decisions, more fans scored both rd 2 and 3 for Usman and the favored result was a draw.

The only 2 fights where Chimaev has had trouble were the 2 fights he didn't totally dominate, and he had a lot of trouble. DDP thrives in those sorts of fights, both fight aggresively but we know DDP can keep it up for 5 rds and Chimaev isn't as dominant as fights go on. DDP is much more of a finisher than Usman is, Chimaev isn't a defensive fighter like Strickland and will get into exchanges as the fight progresses.

Khamzat could win in the second or third

chances diminish greatly each round but he has small chance to finish in the third, hopeless after i'd imagine

I think he will win in the 1st round, but I can see him winning after that too. I think some people are too obsessed with this whole "Chimaev can't win the fight if it goes past the first round" thing.

I know with his pace, he can’t do it for 5 but I bet he can get to 3 no problem. Championship rounds will be the real question.

I feel confidant on a lot of fights but I would NEVER bet on this one. Ever

While I mostly agree with your fairly even-keeled assessment about how this fight could go either way, I think it is very misleading to not mention that Usman had no training camp and took the fight on extremely short notice yet still managed to be the fresher fighter after only 3 rounds. That is a HUGE red flag about his cardio that people are rightfully concerned about

Then they blind. Usman didn't win that fight lol.

It's true that Khamzat never been in a five rounder. It's true that Burns and Usman fight were close. Doesn't mean he can't do a five rounder. Also, p4p, Burns and Usman is much better grappler than DDP anyways. I'm not saying his cardio didn't look sus. But not one tenth sus as people are making it out to be. He ain't no Kimbo/Houston lol.

I think DDP is toughest fight though for sure.

That's true. It looks sus. But people acting like it will take some divine intervention for him to do it lol.

Haven't checked the poll thread, but most people picking Khamzat are probably picking him in the first round.

I am rooting for DDP big time at this point, after seeing how he didn't back down at all when Khamzat tried to step in front of him at the weigh in, and hearing him talk about greatness while Khamzat said he only cares about money (typically a cope used to defend the ego, which makes me wonder if Strickland is onto something after all).....but that said, I think Calavitta Khamzat, now comfortable at 185, will have a full round of extra gas tank.

He'll have a good 3 rounds to beat the dog shit out of Dricus, who even if he survives, will be incredibly diminished himself.
