who thinks pacquaio would beat maywhether?

pac will have big problems against floyd, once floyd figures pac out, i dont think pac can adjust. floyd to me will have height, weight, speed advantage plus superior boxing IQ.

Marquez couldn't even see Diaz's slow punches coming at him early on. I think he's just getting old.

I think one factor that's been failed to be mentioned is how old JMM is compared to when he fought Pacquiao. Everyone who diminishes Manny's demolition of De La Hoya points to his age. Guess what he and JMM are the same age. So could it also be possible that the same fighter who fought Manny the first 2 times isn't the same fighter that fought Floyd yesterday. I honestly think a 3rd bout with JMM would result in a much more one sided victory for Manny and probably end in a KO.

Add to the fact that Manny has improved in leaps and bounds since his bouts with JMM and I think you have a much closer fight than most people are predicting.

mayweather will make pacman miss and counter punch him all night.

If Pacquiao starts throwing with both hands he will get countered hard.

Floyd would be a big favorite IMO. He is much better defensively, is the naturally bigger man, and is just as fast as Manny.

But I didn't think that Manny would beat Oscar either and so that goes to show how little I know

Manny is the underdog, no doubt. I think he'd be the underdog even if they were naturally at the same weight.
I don't think he'll get shut out like JMM though. Different styles obviously. JMM's preferred style of intelligent counterpunching, and even his gutsy attacks, played too well to Floyd's defense and speed.
Still... can Manny force PBF to brawl? Noone else has managed it...
I think PBF's elusiveness, incredible defense, speed and size advantage would make a tough night for the Pacman... But damnit, who doesn't want to see Pacman beat him?

There are decent arguments for why pacquaio and mayweather would each win but those of you who suddenly think pac would lose badly because marquez lost are just on a honeymoon. It's easy for a guy to look unbeatable in a fight he dominates, but 0.0000001 second in speed could have made him look like a fool. Pacquao's fighting style is an element which was completely absent fromt hat figt thus not part of the equation.

Pac has enough power to knock out Mayweather. He is also fast enough to keep up with Mayweather. Mayweather is still the favorite.

floyd didn't look like he ever left the sport

his defense was as great as its ever been

i'm not sure pacquaio can hit floyd enough to win a fight

before yesterday, i gave pacquaio about a 40% chance of beating mayweather. after last night, i give him about 15%

people are by nature are reactionary, after pac takes out cotto, you'll give pacman a 40% change again

personally I would just love to see the fight myself, I think Mayweather would be the odds on favorite but using this fight to make a case for him embarrassing Manny is just not good logic. It never is when you just compare fights like this. Styles make fights and its been said a thousand times by fans of both guys that JMM was almost tailor made for a guy like Floyd and he was going up 2 weight classes to boot.

That and really it goes both ways, Manny has much better performances against Oscar and Hatton.

Ill admit it that I'm a major fan of Manny so it may be impairing my judgment but I think he has the ability to beat him.

hmmm....after remembering a favorite fight of mine roy jones vs james tony, I remembered that when fighting against a dip and ducking type opponent who likes to bait you into over extending yourself, you need to keep him turning by taking an angle every time he dips n ducks. I know manny is no where near a slick a boxer as roy was, but their footspeed is similar. If freddy roach can train manny to read when to move to the right angle then a win is doable for manny.
