International Who think Cuba is the fault of the US?

Who is (mostly) to blame for Cuba's present dire condition?

Embargo certainly didn't have a lot to do with it.

If anything the US and Woodrow Wilson were way more responsible for North Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh and that god awful war we going involved in with them. We definitely tilted him toward communism and paid the price later trying to fight it.

Cuba was headed that way regardless of what we did.

Communism fails because it often puts incompetent people in positions of power.

4th option: Both.

Both Communism and US Foreign policy are bad for a country.

I'm surprised none of our politicians have claimed that this is the fault of Finland.

There is no Finland, just a white Western patriarchy that is united in its ideals and goals, therefore we are responsible.

Anyway, I think Cuba itself has done plenty to cause the strained relationships with America. Communist states of the "old kind" aren't exactly free-trade zones. How exactly does the U.S. go on about trading goods with Cuba if they're not willing to make significant changes to their system?

Rubbish. I spent nearly 2 decades living and working in these countries. My wife is from one of them. Life in those countries is incredibly similar to the US.
I disagree. Countries with more socialism were the ones arresting people for not locking down.

When your country goes more socialist, you lose individual freedoms.

That's not exactly true, freedom means different things to different people.

There are people who have lost everything to outrageous medical bills and that happens under our capitalist system. There are tens of thousands of Americans who die each year because they are untreated. How free did they feel?

The Patriot Act was signed under George W. Bush and took away so many freedoms from us.

Then you have people like the pillow guy who created an app where you can't say bad words, can't say anything bad about religion, etc. You let some of these guys have power and the church has the power again.

We need to stop using this word and assume that it means the same for everyone because it doesn't.

You know America is in trouble when some people claim freedom to them is "I trust my government will keep me safe from getting sick and take care of me."

You do realize there is a world outside the USA, right? Plenty of other countries have their health system funded by taxes and they're doing okay.

But the countries with the most socialized medicine got their freedoms taken away the most with lockdowns. Like Canada, the UK, and Australia.

If you want more socialism, the trade off is that you lose your basic individual freedoms.

None of those countries are socialists and are ranked higher in the freedom index than America. I suggest you travel more and learn about the world and stop believing in American exceptionalism. There are things we can learn from other countries and there are also things we shouldn't copy from other nations.

If America does something wrong, would you admit to it?

They have less freedom

They have less freedom

Yet it is still ranked higher than the USA. Wow, you took one news story. You got me.

By the way, Australia has 900 deaths. Do you count death as freedom too? I mean I guess it is liberation from the world afterall

But they have no freedom. If they leave and go too far away from their house, they get arrested.

If this is freedom to you, I don't know what to tell you

Where did you get that information from?

America is partly to blame. But Cuban communist regime is obviously the main culprit.
