Who really won round 3? *Gifs*

Who cares?

I don't really care too much.
For me, round three did the most to prove that Conor has no chance against Khabib.

I honestly never looked at the stats personally but all the comments I read seemed to imply he only landed a few more shots.

If those numbers are accurate though I retract my statement and agree with him getting the round. Khabib landed the bigger shots but those numbers are to heavily in Conors favor to justify giving Khabib the round based on that.

Mark likes to count the insignificant strikes to make him feel better lol.

From the fans to the fighters, to its management and ownership, easily the most insecure sport and fanbase.

Conor, on all three scorecards. He really won Round 3.

This.

We all know MMA judging is infallible and beyond reproach. Never question it again TS, and for the last time Leonard Garcia has won every fight he got his hand raised in no further discussion needed.

Dubs have been given out for less obvious bad troll threads.
Because all judges said it was a conor rounds means it's a conor round?

There isn't a card that goes by that people don't whinge about a result.

Even WMMA get threads about it.

I always just looked at the round where khabib decided to get his gas back after mauling conor in the 2nd, knowing conor had nothing for him with his power being depleted.

Conor definitely won the round.

One big reason he did was because Khabib was also definitely looking to slow his roll, writing off a round in exchange for recharging energy after the big effort he put into round 2.

Obviously, it payed off come round 4.

It's a veteran move; many less experienced (or less strategically minded) grappling heavy fighters might have gassed themselves by giving in to the temptation to go 100% effort that round (and every round) as well after the success of the previous round.

Achieving that success however cost a lot of stamina, and cagey opponents like Iaquinta can be willing to accept being on the defensive for a round, as long as they can minimize the damage they take and make you work extra hard to keep them from escaping.

Each round is basically a free stand up (advantaging the guy with better neutral), and there is no guarantee you would be as successful the next time now that you're winded; even if you do manage to succeed in getting him down, you will probably have to have burned through your last reserves to do it, flatlining yourself and becoming a sitting duck for the rest of the fight thereafter. And if you *don't* get a takedown even in spite of that, then you're really in trouble (see f.ex. Maia vs Woodley).

What does it matter that Connor debatably won a round? Overall he was soundly beaten and finished, the fight wasn't remotely close.

I thought it was kind of sad for Conor to brag about winning one round on the scorecards that was so close in a fight he got destroyed in, but it raises a good question, who do you think won the round?

Conor landed more punches in the round but they did no damage

(Note: This is the only gif of a Conor punch landing in the third I could find searching google. I'm not making my own gifs. If you have any more Conor or Khabib gifs for the round please post and I'll put them in the OP. Nothing else he did I remember sticks out as being in any way memorable).

This is about the best shot he landed in the fight, a flush uppercut, but it didn't appear to phase Khabib.

Now let's look at how many times Khabib staggered Conor in the round

Omg, Khabib lost a round.

Cry me a river.

Round 3 was standing striking, for a guy who have "better" striking did no harm against Khabib. In the end of the day, he tapped like chicken.

He pretty clearly won round 3, but that doesn't matter in the fucking slightest. If Khabib demonstrated as big of a skill gap as he did in the first two rounds on the ground and hurt Conor on the feet round 4, him losing round 3 on the feet before it doesn't mean anything, especially if he was never in danger during it.

Conor lost the 3rd round.
Anything else you want to talk about?

Khabib landed the harder strikes, scored it for him quite easily. It's not a shock the judges scored it for McGregor though. Khabib needs to put a stamp on every round if he wants to best the UFC's golden boy via decision. Thankfully he didn't need to
