Haha, it's funny that in this thread the judges who are so often ridiculed for scoring fights differently than the rest of the world are suddenly the utmost authority and beyond reproach.

This is kind of similar to Aldo Edgar 1 actually when people where saying Frankie won rounds because he landed 5 or 6 more strikes in the round but he was landing insignificant volume shots while Aldo was smashing his head in and clearly landing a few less but more impactful shots.

The judges actually got that one right with Aldo 4-1 and that fight should be used as a training tool cause based on the rules if the numbers in a round are close the fighter landing the more effective shots should get the round.

Conor being awarded the round based on landing less than 10 more shots is meaningless at the end of the day since Khabib got the finish so it's a moot point but by the rules Khabib landed the more meaningful shots and displayed Octogon control so he really should have been awarded it.

I thought it was kind of sad for Conor to claim victory because he won a round on the scorecards that was so close in a fight he got destroyed in, but it raises a good question, who do you think won the round?

Conor landed more punches in the round but they did no damage

This is about the best shot he landed in the fight, a flush uppercut, but it didn't appear to phase Khabib
