Who is Volks greatest win? Max? You mean that guy who lost his last 4 title fights and got KTFO by Ilia?

Who else? That Ortega guy who lost 4 of his last 6?

Let's call it the same both ways fellas.
If you want to evaluate Aldo based on how his opponents looked in the waning years of their careers let's go both ways with that attitude.

Aldo has never done anything as special as what Volk did last night. He has also never put on a master class performance against an opponent the level of Max Holloway like Volk did in the 3rd fight.

Also, while Aldo has many defenses. He lacked that 1 or 2 great wins over other great fighters. Volk had wins over Max 3x and Aldo, Max had two wins over Aldo. Aldo’s best win is Mendes??

Bisping was a paper champ because he blantantly ducked the rightfull contenders Yoel and Rob.

Dennis Hallman beat Matt Hughes very early in their careers and Dennis Hallman went on top accomplish nothing. Matt would have wiped the floor with him at his height. Jose Aldo lost to Max 2x, Conor and Vok at the height of his career and prime, most were title fights. The point is that Aldo can't be FW goat based on the fact he wasn't able to beat 3 other FWs who are in that convseration. Like I said if Aldo would have lost one of them, maybe two he could still have an argument, but not all three.

While H2H isn't the defining point of being a GOAT, and its more abot legacy and title defenses, resume. There still has to be an element of being the best or among the best. Losing to 3 other great FWs doesn't put him there.

BTW, Max is clearly better than Aldo considering he TKO'd him twice.

I think overall Frankie is a better name and fighter than Mendes. But I looked at it from a perspective of what they did at 145. Most of Frankies carer accomplishments came at 155. Mendes at the time of the Aldo fights had great runs at 145.
 
Also, Jose wasn't at the height of his career when Max KO'd him.

Which is why a fighter's peak matters. Aldo was not the same fighter when he fought Max both times.

Aldo was FW champ and #1 in the world, he had one slip up getting KO'd by Conor quickly. Max beat the best version of Aldo. He didn't just somehow fall out of his prime in the course of 6 months to a year. Max was just better.

And what did Aldo do after, he came back and TKO'd two FWs in Moicano and Stephens. Aldo was still fighting in title fights 3 years after that loss to Max.

And that is based on what?? Where is there anything to indicate Aldo wasn't at his best??
