Who is a greater/better fighter: Khabib or Volkanovski

IMO Volk is definitely more decorated at this point, but too many ppl forget how dominant Khabib was. I’d take Khabib over Volk head to head at any weight class (LW or above).

You're sooooo close to understanding that a champion defending against the one below them like Islam and Khabib did rather than challenge the one above themselves gave them an advantage.

Which is why they agreed to that but wouldn't put themselves in the same scenario.

5'6 Volk challenged 5'10 Islam, who never made weight, because the guy at the scales shut down the scale.
5'10 Khabib hasn't challenged anybody above "his weight", while not making weight several times and nearly dying making weight.
 
The only advantage Khabib has is the undefeated record. Volk surpasses him in every other respect.

and you are nowhere from understanding that Islam didnt call out Volkaovski but rather Dana had already organised that the winner of Islam/Oliveira was going tobe fighting Volkanovski.
They didnt have a choice...

Dominating in a fight (barring a 1st round KO/sub) is subjective, though I personally think his last 3 fights were pretty dominant against the best the division had to offer (at the time).

The fact that he only lost 2 rounds in his entire 29 fight career is objectively dominant.

True, but Volkanovski likely would have dominated the vast majority of Khabib's opponents.

Any fighters seem to give him problems? Volk will likely have the greater career (and maybe legacy). But it’s that crazy grappler style. Look at what he did to Conor and Justin…. Volk do that? Nah…

No way, keep telling yourself that. How do you really see a Khabib vs Volk fight really going down? The LW champ ties him up, chain wrestles the crap out of Volk and beats him or submits him. Sorry, but that’s the truth.

That is pure speculation. Makhachev couldn't do it, and he actually has good striking.

I'm not saying Khabib isn't a good fighter. He definitely is. But this whole "unbeatable champ" thing is nonsense. He has a handful of good wins over legitimate opponents. The rest is all imaginary.
