Probably the two hardest punchers in MMA history

I would give the edge to Carwin personally, he knocked out a prime Mir and Gonzaga

Most of Ngannou's KOs have been against old men off the juice

Unlike Ngannou, Carwin also has an iron chin. Got hit by nukes by prime JDS and didn't get KTFO
 
Carwin didn’t need counters or big shots, he hit so hard he could KO guys with jabs or little arm punches.

Francis is the more destructive KO artist for sure and one of the scariest guys ever but he’s actually underrated as a counter striker. A lot of his shots have good setups and he’s also deceptively fast. Shane just had brutal power. Id give Shane an edge on power based on that. Too lazy to find videos
 
Ngannou hits as hard as a Ford Escort. Carwin hits as hard as a Ford Focus. Ngannou has slightly more horsepower and for just slightly more money you get the extra 2 doors and boot space which is great if you have kids.
 
HW with power are not impressive.

Ngannou, Hunt, Roy & Carwin ... they hit hard.

285 carwin was a beast. The one that fought jds was just 250 something with more back problems.
 
I have to go with Frances. Both have had devastating knockouts but the speed and torque Frances generates behind his explosion is downright frightening.
 
Carwin. Ko'ed people with no load up and without his feet set.

Francis actually uses a modicum of technique.

Bullshit. He never stanky legged that fight. stipe hit him, sure, but it didn't do shit. What Ngannou did, was get tired. When you're fatigued due to poor conditioning (which he had at the time) even lighter punches would have greater effect. Even then, an exhausted Ngannou took some serious ground and pound and stipe's best shots and was never rocked badly or put away. In contrast, stipe flurried on Ngannou and got barely clipped by Ngannou and got jarred. it was stipe who stankied that fight.
 
Probably Ngannou, plus hes just a better striker in addition to the power.

Carwin was a beast though, one of my favourite HWs ever. Big power, scary MF, strong as an ox and his wrestling was obviously a lot better than Ngannous.
 
Francis I think. He punches much faster too which helps with power. This wouldnt even be close if Carwin competed under USADA
 
Many have confirmed rumble hit harder then Francis
