Genuinely haven't been impressed by a Jones performance since he decimated DC the first time and that was over a decade ago. Sure he got a finish in the rematch but he was down 2 rounds... sure wasn't looking nearly as good as before and he's looked like utter crap against WAY worse competition since.

Jones from 2010-2014 was probably the best fighter ever in MMA. Jones from 2017-now = a total joke and with the repeat drug test failures... he has completely tarnished the legacy of the fighter he once was. When you're a complete scumbag criminal outside the cage and now all of your in cage accomplishments seem heavily "influenced"... not much to support.

Add in the "holding up the division" behavior and I truly don't understand how he has a single fan left. Inactivity is one of the most frustrating traits of a fighter; looking at Yair/Ortega/Covington too for their BS.

Just curious what the numbers will be on here.

Please vote, thanks.

Option 4..

I’ve never supported that lowlife cheating douchebag.

Because what honourable person would?

I instinctively feel a knee jerk desire to defend the fighter Jon Jones, because I cannot for the life of me understand how he can be responsible for "holding up the division". If he truly is the issue then the UFC needs to strip him, plain and simple. If he is the problem and the UFC refuses to strip him, that is a UFC problem.
Gonna stop you right there.

Every champion is responsible for vacating their belt quickly if they don't intend to fight the #1 contender or interim champ. GSP set the precedent and did things correctly. You're confusing double responsibility with Jon Jones not having any responsibility.

Yes, the UFC also bear some responsibility for refusing to strip Jon Jones. But that does not absolve Jon Jones of his own personal responsibility to defend or vacate against the interim champion.

I see the same 2- 3 devoted Jones cock gobblers in all the Jones threads. Yall kow who they are but let's see if they man up and answer role call.

Where yall ball gargling dorks at? Show yourself!!
They voted yes on the poll, from their main and alter accounts. lol

It’s time I reactivated this gif. I deleted most of my saved gifs around October last year. I took a 3ish month sabbatical from SD (went to Mexico, and recharged my batteries). And I deleted almost all of them.

Except for my “IN” gif.

So here it is again..

I totally agree, UFC/Dana has the power to end this charades. But for some reason they have an incredibly long leash for Jon Jones.

Outside of die hards and people from the UK, no one cares about Aspinall.

UFC/Dana know that the only way to create a new HW star and legitimize the division is to have someone beat Jones.

Dana is a gambler, so I’m sure it’s very enticing to him. Win and the “baddest man on the planet” means something again, and he has a young English speaking international HW superstar with long term value. Lose and the HW division is set back another decade. He’s just trying to find the right number to make it worth rolling the dice.

Voted that I'm getting sick of this shit. You gotta clock into work, god dammit.

Ever think he beats tom, another contender comes up, and jon does this shit again?

I fucking hate inactive fighters.

Yeah, I guess that one straddles the fighter persona and the person persona. I automatically put that in the "Jones is a shit person" category. I do agree that the honourable thing would be to vacate... but Jones is not an honourable person or an honourable fighter.

Now, as a negotiating tactic what he is doing makes the most sense. The UFC and the general public care more about HW champion Jones than they do about Vetran fighter Jones. So from a selfish standpoint, this is a no brainer. This goes back to the UFC's responsibility. They should have been more concerned with him holding them hostage, than with the potential benefit of a Jones superfight. People always complain when the brand wants to be bigger than the fighter, but this (and Conor) show you what happens when the opposite happens.

I do think Jones is employing a negotiating tactic, but I think his tactic is: I'll fight someone other than Aspinall, but if you strip me of my belt I'm retiring.

Jones is banking that the UFC need him to fight for a big PPV card, and that they might bow down to the money and let him defend against say Alex Pereira, rather than Tom Aspinall.

And I have a bad feeling the UFC might do it.

DEFEND or VACATE!

I just want to see Aspinall take his next opponent's head off whoever that is, but Dana White is refusing to strip him as he has been stalling because his girlfriend Jon Jones wants to duck Aspinall.

Support him how? He’s still the best to ever do it. May not beat Tom at this point, but that doesn’t change his legacy. Everyone does steroids, so don’t waste your time trying to argue with me about how his failed tests matter. I also don’t care what he does in his personal life.

I also think he should vacate or just fight.

Does that count as supporting him?

I haven't supported him since the DUI incidents, I lost my brother from drinking and driving, anyone who does that behaviour is also dead to me.

Love to watch him fight and other then tom I always think he will win. Obviously as a dude not a fan at all. The ufc us holding up the division they own the division and are doing nothing. If anyone expects Jon to step aside nicely and quietly then you don't know Jon. He loves attention and he is getting more from not fighting.

It's simple. Jon Jones is the best to ever do it but fight or give up the belt. The UFC should move on. If Jon wants to come back later and try to win the belt back I'm sure people would buy the PPV.

I support him when he is in the gym and working hard.

I don't support him for other reasons.

Supporting someone is not binary, it's a spectrum.

When you make daily Jon Jones threads and talk about him every chance you get, you're supporting him far more than his fans ever could.

MMA skill and ability has fully taken a backseat to concepts like name recognition, polarization, google trends, marketability and popularity.

Thank you haters, for keeping this retired GOAT at the forefront of current MMA. If he does ever decide to fight again, he knows he can count on you.
