Who here is picking TJ Grant over Maynard, and why?

I don't see TJ outwrestling Maynard and while he could outstrike him, I don't think he puts Gray away and when he starts to outbox Maynard, he'll be taken down. It's just a shit matchup for TJ, in my opinion.

Yeah this is pretty much how I see the fight going, although I think Gray overall has the better striking. I think Grant can definitely win, but he's gonna have to land some perfect strikes or take advantage of a scramble to do so.

I think Gray will be the better fighter in this bout, but it wouldn't blow my mind if Grant won. It would, however, blow my voice. TJ Grant is the fucking man and I will be rooting for him with all of my being. I just wouldn't put money on him in this fight.

I imagine Gray has more power but Grant's muay thai has been looking really good lately. He might be a more intelligent striker than Gray, and maybe a hair more slick.

Grant will make Maynard look pedestrian.

Watch for the elbows
You will be around following the fight to accept your accolades, wont you? Can we look for the same name?
Just kidding with ya. Good luck.

Heres the simplest breakdown for ya

Maynard is better, his striking isnt , not by a lot but TJ is sharper, if (and thats not a small if) maynard fights smart and mixes in TD's with his striking he will take a UD, if he spends too much time getting hammered by TJ , allowing him to build confidence and diminishing his own he will most likely lose a 29-28 UD, the first 2 rounds will let you know who won this fight, my money is on maynard because the dude actually only lost once, and TJ has lost to much lesser competition, but TJ's size and development makes me incredibly worried
Gray has never looked better. This is the best Training Camp he's ever had. His training partners were Josh Thomson, Khabib and he brought in Martin Kampman, among others.
Look at Gray's weigh in pics.....he's ready.

There is something to be said for an honest post. Good luck to you Sir.

I know Gray is your boy, but try not to take what the say so personal.

Besides, tomorrow night Maynard will show why he got his nickname. And if Grant wins, which I don't think he will, it will just be a testament to how good Grant is because we all know for skilled and proven Maynard is.

Says the guy who takes offense at people who aren't picking Gray. I guess you're getting crabby because it's way past your bed time. You should get some rest.

Please, site specifically where I have taken offense with ANYONE in this thread.
You came off snarky with me, I retaliated. I said nothing offensive to you initially.
I don't care who you or anyone else picks in this fight. The outcome certainly doesn't hinge on what you or I think.

Other than defending Gray against an outright lie or mischaracterization, I think you are mistaking my innocuous banter for something more sinister; and it just isn't.

I think grant's been improving a lot and he's slightly bigger than gray...

that's why i'm chosing grant!

I like you man, I see you passionately posting about Gray all the time and have heard your story about him and your close relation.

But, you are sounding real emotional and defensive.

i picked T.J.

i like his odds. i also put him in my parlay.

nothing specific, just intuition.

TJ's pressure style of stand up won't let Gray settle in and if he gets taken down he's got a fantastic butterfly guard he uses to get back to his feet effectively (Hendricks fight), add in Gray's ring rust and I think TJ wins this one.

Sue me.

My thoughts exactly. I'm worried about Maynard cage rust. He did look good on weight ins but then again how many times that fooled us. When fight was first announced I picked TJ and was surprised he was that much of an underdog. This is a close fight and if TJ can clinch with Maynard while not get taken down I can see TJ putting some nasty KO on Maynard. Its a toss up, my heart says TJ but mind says wrestling of Maynard will probably earn him a UD

TJ Grant. I think he has better range, better in the clinch, and is sick off his back. He's tough as hell to boot. Gray can definitey prove me wrong, I just feel TJ is on a mission. Also shocks me how many people are sleeping on TJ. When Grant fights, he looks SO much better each time out. What he did to Wiman was crazy impressive. But what it really boils down to is he trains with a friend of mine at FitPlus and I've met him. Dude is a typical Maritimer. Just easy going with no heir of superiority at all.

i really like grant, and will be cheering for him. but if i had to put money on it i would pick grey, i think grey is a step above him in talent. i hope grant proves me wrong.

Man, Grant is very overestimated here. I dont think Maynard is going to have a problem with him at all
