Who had the worst end to a great career?

Chuck always comes to my mind. It seems like all people remember him for are Rampage, Rashad, Shogun, and Franklin knocking him out brutally.

BJ's made me the saddest. He was a bad dude in his prime. Talented and skilled, it's too bad we rarely got to see that backed by extreme work ethic. What made his success so much more impressive was that he lived a comfortable life. Dude knew the silk sheets and still had that dog in him.

The correct answer is Ken Shamrock.
I'd bet he will take another bout before he is 70.
The longest, slowest drop off in MMA.

The back nine were pretty god awful for Mark Kerr and Ken Shamrock.

Mark Kerr went from 12-0 to 15-11.

Ken Shamrock went from 22-4 to 28-17.

Fedor deserves a mention. I remember reading an article in, I believe fighters only magazine, quoting one of Fedor's coaches saying that Fedor's speed was notacibly declining. A couple months later, he gets submitted by Werdum and gets ko'd by Bigfoot half a year after that, and was never the same.
Yes but he still didnt lose as much as alot of guys listed here have.

anyway this thread can go on forever. More often than not people have bad ends to their careers and the decision to stop fighting is essentially made for them

ken shamrock had a severe decline that lasted about ten years. sorry, check that, fifteen.

It’s gotta be BJ most of these guys will start falling off in the cage but are still doing okay outside. BJ whole life went off the rails it seems

Not much can beat getting KO'd by a shirtless, fat guy in the middle of a street.
Not that hard to knock out a drunk guy standing still if you have been taught how to punch and have practiced it. Never boxed in a gym but trained for years. I have natural power and could easily knock someone out. If I remember the video BJ was standing still when he got kod. Not hard to do.

Do you understand jokes, bro???

He was one of my favorite fighters when he was fighting.
He was strong as an ox, wrestled like a demon, and developed decent stand up.

That's a funny vid btw lol.
When he beat Penn in the 2nd fight,he was having a real hard time til penn gassed. When they asked him about it,he says I kept my cool. I lost the first two rounds, but I had three more left to go.

That always stuck with me, his mental fortitude. It was inspiring.
