It's because he got hyped up by the UFC and lost, so now he can literally never improve at the decrepit age of 20.

There's also a few goofballs that think he was hyped up because he's blonde and white, so they dislike him because of that. Yikes.

I think he's actually quite annoying and comes off very naive and childish in the way he communicates. He lacks professionalism in his tone and just seems "happy to be there", which is cool, but he just feels so amateur. He spends more time talking about Texas A&M than MMA.

Couldn't have put it better myself. The kid's undeniably skilled, but has a LOT of work to put in before he can compete consistently in the UFC. I guess the promotion's pushing him forward because he appeals to the younger (15-18) demographic, as they could see themselves in him. Also, it probably has something to do with the Karate Kid stereotype which is so popular. Don't know, don't care. What I do know is, he's annoying for the reasons you stated and (call me a scumbag if you want) I was happy when he got choked. So many fighters are busting their asses, this guy gets 50000 in his second fight just because he's the marketable Karate Kid...
