Who does Sage actually appeal to?

Who in the blue hell does he appeal to?

Like seriously, everyone who's a big draw has a demographic right?

Ronda is attractive, and she was an unstoppable badass - that brings in the male viewership. She's also a dominant woman in a male dominated sport - so that brings in the female viewership. Men and women of all ages have a reason to like Ronda.

Conor is super entertaining with his creative one-liners and quotables. He has an entire country behind him, alongside the majority of the neighboring nations like Scotland, England also jumping onto the wagon also. He was also an unstoppable badass - which brings in the males. He's a fashionable, confident, semi-attractive young man, who is going to therefore bring in the female audience.

So onto Sage!

Clearly he's not in the same stratosphere as Ronda/Conor, and by no means am I directly comparing. What I am doing is taking him as an example of someone who the UFC is trying extremely hard to turn into a star, the way they did with Ronda/Conor.

My question is, what the hell about him is even palatable?

I think he's actually quite annoying and comes off very naive and childish in the way he communicates. He lacks professionalism in his tone and just seems "happy to be there", which is cool, but he just feels so amateur. He spends more time talking about Texas A&M than MMA.

Who does he appeal to? Seriously!

Him being 20 doesn't help him. Not saying that women 25+ don't find 20 year old men attractive, but a slightly more mature man is always seen as more of a "man" and not a "boy" like Sage. Girls 25 and below are hardly the UFC's main demographic, if at all.

Him being 20 also doesn't help him with the male audience, I say this because I don't think there are many fighters we could say we've been dedicated to and hardcore supported from the age of 20, they still feel like kids at that stage.

The UFC force him down our throats like he has the "IT" factor, like there is just the right formula for him to succeed and be a huge star - I personally just don't see it.

Thoughts? Am I being too harsh? Do you agree with me?

Let's hear it...

Did you ask who does Tim Tebow appeal to

I didn't read anything but the title, so in short I love Sage the guy is super polite naturally talented, always smiling and nice as hell, never has a bad thing to say about anyone....I root for him.

He lives a mile away from me. He gets my support automatically. Plus he seems like a good kid. Give him a fucken break. It's not like he's out there crashing cars and throwing money around at strip clubs.

Well I showed my mum (63 y.o.) a pic of him smiling and then him doing that front flip and she said "he looks like a very nice boy."

Does that count?

The Jesus freak, home schooled, body building, hair styling, flippers. Obviously.

He looks like a star in a Bel Ami gay porn movie.

You have to understand that there is a highly homoerotic subtext to being a fan of MMA. Whether conscious or unconscious, it's at least partly about men worshipping the physical perfection of other men. And he's considered to be as perfect as it gets.

The numerous closet gays on Sherdog. They hate on cute girls and gush about pretty twink boys; it's all over Sherdog.

You lost me at "Rhonda is attractive". All credibility flew out the window.
Perfect example; wants to hate on pretty girls because he only likes pretty boys. Time to crawl back in the closet.

Sherdog seems to love him. They also love that Akiyama guy and post his pictures pretending they are joking but we all know a big portion of them are homos. It only makes sense considering the half naked dudes that compete in MMA. I just wish they would admit it instead of playing it off.

Sage is good, he'll get better. A lot of great ranked older fighters got noob-subbed early in the records. I like traditional Karate type martial arts. nb4 somebody says "TKD is not Karate." It was heavily influenced by Karate. Any notion that it wasn't is utter bullsht.

Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing him fight UFC 200.

Oh yeah I almost forgot:

The UFC hope they have an American version of Conor, but the reality is, that sage doesn't have a personality so he will never be as popular

PVZ will be popular, coz she's pretty and UFC fans are predominantly male.

However sage won't breakthrough to the mainstream

Your answer is in this thread with all the people that go from thread to thread posting memes like this one. High school kids (or those with similar mentalities).

The "Didnt read" crowd is the sherdog version of the "just bleed" crowd. They click, pretend they didn't read (though they obviously did hoping that somewhere buried in all that text was SOMETHING about Conor McGregor they could comment about), and then post same meme over n over.

Stopped reading at "ronda is attractive"
Fuck no. She is atrocious.
Cmon man...she is 'mma hot'..meaning nothing in real life.
