I didn't say Colby was good at it. he obviously is very cringe, lol. But I like the guy. He recognized what he was doing wasn't working, even though he was winning (sounds like Belal) and decided to try to do what he needed to succeed. And it worked. 2 title shots, a 3rd won looming, and people will literally tune in just to see him lose.

And let's be real. Mas didn't check him. He criminally attacked him like a thug after Colby embarrassed him in competition. Colby got the sweetest victory you can possibly get over Mas. Can't say he 'got lucky,' legitimately emasculated him on the grandest stage.

In any event, if you bumped into Colby at the gym you could work in with him. He'd hold the door open for you at a restaurant. If you only had a few items he'd tell you to cut in front of him at Target. What he does for his own economic benefit isn't his every day persona. I'm okay with that.

You're normally not an obnoxious poster, so I'll set this aside. I'm not a 2021 join date who doesn't train 4x a week. I just don't blame the guy for deciding to make himself a multi-millionaire because he annoys some guys on a karate forum. It's obviously an act (he's said as much) and it makes sense. If I could knock over people's coffee at work and go from making 200k a year to 2 million there'd be coffee all over the place lol

Refer to my previous post about your usual posting. Mas couldn't check him in the cage so he had to ambush him like a thug. That situation was a reflection on Mas, not Colby. Even I (a 15 year BJJ blue belt and panic clincher in muay thai) could chip a tooth on any UFC champion if I ran in from behind and sucker punched them. Be real bro.

Colby was encouraged by the UFC to do it IMO. They directly linked his pay to his performance outside the octagon.

I look at Conor's acts as him choosing to be a bad person and an entitled one. If he didn't earn this money he wouldn't be acting the way he is. The more he loses, the worse he becomes. I don't know if "he was born that way" is really true. I think his situation and experiences have made him that way.

Colby is no different to a comedian or actor, just put trying to put on a show. I think it is harmless compared to lots of the other stuff that goes down with UFC fighters.
