Who are the most worthless UFC employees and why are they Sean Selby and Mick Maynard?

Two people are not enough to manage making fights for over 700 fighters across elevn weight classes. There should be an entire team.

the other guys who should be fired are the talent scouts. where the fuck are all the good fighters?
That's the problem - they don't have talent scouts! It's two guys listening to managers and Fight Pass promoters (Almost all of whom double as managers, Like LFA/Ed Soares and CW/Graehm Boylan), which means that fighters all get funneled through a handful of bad actors.
UFC makes some terrible decisions but really as fans we have no idea who is ducking who, and maybe they are forced to make some shitty matches. DDP/Strickland 2 and Leon/Colby were pretty bad calls.
This is fair, and true. A lot of fighters, especially once they get ranked, get very careful about managing their career trajectory. A good example is the Butthumpestanis accusing everyone of ducking them, while refusing to fight anyone that isn't ranked, as soon as they get one win in the promotion.

I don't know how much the matchmakers have to do with the top matches. I think those are more decided on the guys crunching the numbers and figuring out what makes the most money. I think they're more of lower than co main and down decision making type of deal, maybe some input in co main. Are the matchmakers the ones in charge of scouts and what not for debutante and stuff on that nature? I could see that eating alot of time. Spending on who is to debut and stuff. Of course DWCS makes that easier.

These guys are killers at what they do, true alphas. If there is shit to be done, they do it. That's just the kind of guys Dana surrounds himself with. You wanna be sucessfull kid?

Wake up at 5. am, medidate, then exercise, ice bath, eggs and bacon, suck Dana, some beef tallow and then off you go ready to face the day.

I bet TS wakes up at 8 am and drinks soy lattes.

Match makers have the worst gig. It's a pain in the ass to deal with fighters.

Sean Shelby can be seen in some very old fights, he’s been around for a while and I think he was Joe Silvas apprentice

I'm not saying fighters aren't smart for gaming the system, it's just boring for fans. I'm never going to be a fan of guys who manage their career the best because if everyone does it then mma will become boxing where everyone is 30-0 over cans and negotiates 5 years until saudi's pay up to get the fight we actually want.

The worst part is it seems UFC is fully complicit, they give the title shots where they used to pass people up when they did this shit. There needs to be inactivity decay for rankings. Sorry you are 1-1 in 3 years while some guy is 5-0 with finishes so he's above you now.

Derrick Lewis main eventing in 2025 is an absolute joke.

Cody Brundage in co-main event LOL.

Strickland/O'Malley getting underserved title fights

The UFC never prioritizes the best vs the best.

Seriously, what do these guys' day-to-day look like? Booking instant rematch title fight #458, scouring social media for potential matchups based on "engagement" and trending hashtags, maintaining that $5 dry-erase board in Dana's office and making sure there's enough construction paper and sticky tac for it, picking names out of a hat and then fretting about what takeout to order for lunch? Talk about cushy jobs. So many guys and gals have complained about being un-booked and never getting responses from these two clowns.

They have not done a good job either, imo.

Probably not so much worthless but just not worth what we thought. I expect big fights like we talk about everyday that we want have many things in play that hinder them being made. Dana always talks about the meetings they have to discuss fights. These meetings probably are laughable with Sean and Micks efforts being undermined by a number of voices in the room and outside factors. I'm not sure replacing them would change a thing.
