White: Velasquez vs Dos Santos III could be a while away

This isnt like losing a normal fight. He got demolished. Brain damage, concussion, outstruck, taken down first 30 seconds of the fight, gassed out, etc. Give him a year or two to get on Cain's level. Maybe some more experience under his belt before trying to take on the Champ.

Are you daft man?

Cain's level? You do realize that JDS knocked him unconscious the first time they fought right..

Some of you Cain fans are actually delusional lol.

If it happens again, Cain will brutally pummel JDS again. The first fight was a fluke.

First JDS has to get his broken jaw fix and then decide if he is willing to risk it getting broken again. This wasn't a close fight. 50 - 43 on one judges card. How do you argue a rematch until JDS goes on a serious win streak and shows his jaw can survive any more shots.

Nowhere close to as delusional as all the JDS fans who insisted that Cain didn't have a chance, and then when proven stupid changed up their argument that a flash KO was more impressive than a bell to bell clowning.

He broke his jaw not ...

As a huge JDS fan, I say he needs to fight someone else first. He only needs one, but it has to be a good win.

As a JDS fan, I would like him to fight at least 3-4 guys before his rematch. JDS really dropped the ball in that fight and I think 2 more years of cage experience would do him a world of good. The last thing a JDS fan should want is for JDS, with no improvements at all, to face Cain again - the outcome would be identical baring a quick KO.

Not at all surprising, I made a reply on another thread alludung to thi. The UFC wants Cain to keep the strap. It was a long road for JDS to get a title shot, And he'll have a long road to get it back. I actually think the quickest way for him to get a rematch is if cain loses the belt.
Lets say Overeem beats Velasquez by end of 2013, And Dos Santos strings together a couple of wins. Maybe early 2014 JDS would fight Overeem for the title. If JDS wins then the UFC would look to make JDS/Cain III, in order to get the belt off of Dos Santos.

I think you're delusional if you think a quick ko is the same as a 25 minute bell to bell ravaging of a mans soul.

JDS to have one fight then re-match. JDS should get the same treatment as Cain. Fair is fair.

I don't want to see this rematch, yet.
I want to see Alistair Overeem win against Bigfoot and then fight Cain next.
Junior has to fight 1 good opponent to get his chance against Cain again, someone like Hunt or Werdum.

Did you say Hunt? He is not even top ten.

How about JDS fights Ray Mercer as well?

JDS would take Hunt down and submit him or win by decision. I like seeing Hunt fight but he is really hyped up by you clowns like crazy on here.

I would actually like to see JDS win a fight by submission. He wasn't really looking to submit Cain in their fight, and it would be nice to see if he actually has some offensive BJJ.

This is of course what most would agree with - it was a dominating win.

However I can't help but feel it was a little unfair to give Cain the near immediate rematch to begin with.

But at least they can feed him Struve or one of the other easy wins in the division and sell it to massive Mexican demographic who apparently only want to see Cain fight because he's Mexican which I'm assured exist...

I understand. Generally I like to see JDS vs Hunt. But on the scale of JDS making a comeback for top contention, a fight against Hunt simply doesn't make any sense.

Cain caught JDS with a huge early shot, too, you know, and it colored the rest of the fight.

The difference is that JDS finished Cain instead of letting it go to a decision.

I have no idea how some people think that makes Cain's victory any more convincing.

No need for a rematch anytime soon, JDS got completely outclassed and dominated.
