Economy White House changes the definition of Recession

Imagine posting this as.....

We go into a recession
Inflation highest in history( if gauged correctly)
Stock market in correction territory
Massive crime increase
Record overdoses
Russia stronger than ever and about to take Ukraine
China acting as belligerent as ever
Imagine thinking it would be BETTER if the other guy won.

Clown world....

That is like a Bee headline. I used to really like the economist. Now it’s just another day like the WaPo or the NYT.
It truly makes me sad. To me it was the last bastion of ‘fair and balanced reporting’. I still check it every week but the days of me having a physical sub and reading almost every article every week are long gone.

Some of their articles of late seem like they’re from the Atlantic…another once excellent pub that was broken by trumps election.

They keep also trying to spin saying that peoples bank accounts are stronger than ever, etc. But as pointed out in multiple threads, bank accounts are down and we keep reaching newer record amounts of debt. This indicates the complete opposite of that spin as people are having to go into more and more debt to buy gas, groceries, energy, etc

Also, regarding the jobs spin, posted in the other thread that several big companies announced layoffs, including Amazon announcing they will be laying off up to 100k employees? Brutal, and there were many companies this week also saying they will be laying off like 10-25% of their work forces.

Yeah it’s really sad how many of these good news sources have turned into absolute crap. Very few places to get your news from. They are all obnoxious opinion pieces now

Yeah thats why they have to charge everything. When inflation drops the balances won't.
I wouldn’t be worried about that. I’d be worried about people being laid off and not being able to pay their credit card balances. I see that coming at the end of summer imho. When layoffs really start to occur

Yup its coming. Being seeing a lot of layoffs lately.
What's odd is if you try to go out to dinner there's no employees. I don't understand that part.
After all of this I think we'll see wages back off again.

We're becoming more and more like the Soviet union every week. Dont want a recession? Just change the definition. Don't like the real inflation numbers? Just come up with new methodology to calculate it. Want to mandate a vaccine but its not a vaccine? Just change the definition of a vaccine.

We have our own Pravda in the form of the msm. They let their candidate hide in the basement completely unchallenged while they smeared Trump through the entire campaign. They used news stories like a weapon. Spread conspiracy after conspiracy.

Then we have 1984 style big tech covering him on their end. Black balling legitimate stories. Freezing accounts of anyone spreading the truth.

I almost forgot selective prosecution and show trials that are nothing more than campaign events on the public dime

The list goes on and on

Think there are too many kinks on the economy and between the lockdowns and then opening and then lockdowns again, many have given up. On top of course the current administration basically doing nothing positive at all to help alleviate the problems is not helpful at all
