Whiskey, War, Suicide, and Guns

Nice lifting. Did you go deep enough on the squats? Holy crap.

I'm probably going to do some lifting tonight, and piss around this week before getting back into it heavy next week. I'm not sure when the next meet I will do is, the last USAPL meet in this area is the first week of June which is way too soon for me and then it's pretty much national meets and such until the end of the year. That's all fine with me though, I'm motivated to train right now. I would like to come back to the same meet next year and total 200 pounds higher.

Thanks. When is your next meet?

I wonder how long it will take them to put the results online so we can find out Donut62's real name.

They say it pretty clearly on the video of me I think, plus I'm registered on Marunde's board and St. Wilhelm's with my real name.

How are you feeling two days out from your meet? Does your body still feel like it was run over? Is it worse?

You should change your last name to Plainview and shave your beard until you only have a moustache.

I feel fine, though I don't plan on squatting heavy or pulling heavy this week. Im thinking some overhead work tonight would be good. Sunday I will start Sheiko 29 and run the 4 month cycle.

That would be pretty badass. I just need some sweet business suits and to scream a lot.

I just started Sheiko 29 today, I'm not used to that type of volume at all. I need to get used to it. Did you make good gains on Sheiko last time you were on it?

Thats a big Ten-Four!

I'll be hopping on the 29-37 bandwagon too.

Sheiko isn't a gimmick program that you use once or twice like Smolov. People train using Sheiko style programs for years on end.

Adds "The Perfect Pushup" to e-shopping cart along with some Muscle Tech products .

What should the rest times look like? I was keeping them rather small, but wasn't sure if that was the best way to do it or not.

Where's that "lol @ serious post" pic when you need it.

Yeah, exactly. It's a training philosophy like Westside or ****l Milita. The existing programs out there are just examples, and if do them and learn to understand the underlying workings you should be able to eventually train yourself without following the the exact published programs. Mike Truscherer and Wade Hooper are two of the best American lifters who do exactly that. I tired one of the prep cycles out of curiousity to see if I could handle the volume and really liked it and have decided to go full into it after hearing a lot of feedback from other people over the weekend. It's a true adaptation of Soviet weightlifting to powerlifting.

I think Chase has far and away the most experience here using them and his results speak for themselves.

Just about all of my sets are done on either 2 or 3 minutes intervals. I'll occasionally give myself more time on some of the deadlift sets.

Alright, I was taking about 90 seconds to 2 minutes on average. The second round of bench press was hard as hell, and so was the squats but my lower back is sore as hell and that was killing me.
