Which Striker you had high hopes for turned out to be a bust?

I don't think tumenov was a MMA bust. Yeah for the UFC he might be but as an overall MMA fighter he wasn't a bust. They guy was 24-5 with 2 loses coming early in his career and 3 in the UFC. 5-3 in the UFC. And he's been undefeated since leaving the UFC.
Very nice. I admittedly haven’t followed his career closely

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this dude but Marvin Eastman even got knocked out by a grappler Travis Lutter and got his head smashed in by Vitor in 20 seconds

Conor, after reading about him from retards on this site how his left shifts the Earth’s axis when it lands then fought real competition and went on a losing streak.

Funny thing is my usual answer to this would be Khalil Rountree Jr lol

Perhaps not a bust really bur Mariusz Zaromskis looked like he was about the head kick KO the whole WW division before running into Nick Diaz, back in the days when I still watched MMA aside from the big UFC cards

I never in my life would have foreseen Gokhan Saki getting KO by Rountree. I presumed his world class striking would at least make him super dangerous for anyone on the feet, but even during his first fight in the UFC, Saki looked like he needed to return to kickboxing. One of the biggest personal disappointments I've had as a fan.
I didn't see him doing well on mma at all, but didn't expect him to może pure striking fight and do rasy against Rountree

Rashid magomedov. I thought he was a really slick striker with great tdd and would be top 10, especially after he made gilbert burns cry. Unfortunately he was far too patient for his own good and couldn't stop a wall and stall gameplan from dariush.
Didn't he fall of after Usada? A other example was Ruslan Magomedov.
I thought Kattar would box Max up.
Expected more from Tumenov
Cavalcante did terrible on UFC
Thomas Almeida

Well, the Vitor thing has nothing to do with this thread, really. That could happen to anyone.

In the Lutter fight, Eastman had been knocked out twice in training, so he just went out like a light off a weak punch.

Eastman was a solid fighter, but I wouldnt call him a bust, because he was never hyped like that.

Brandon Thatch
Jordan Mein
Marius Zaromskis
Aleksander Emelianenko
Teodoras Aukstuolis
Karol Bedorf
Bedorf? He was never a Striker. He actually started as grappler, he even competed at adcc long ago. He had powerful kicks, but always bad boxing and wasn't technical. Obce he gained on size he had more powerful kicks and wrestled more, but his ground game wasn't as good anymore

The thing with Aleks is he actually was a good striker but him getting banned everywhere except eastern europe probably killed his motivation, and he became a alcoholic menace.

I wouldnt say he's a bust. He may have lost to Justin but he fucked him up pretty good too.

But sure, people expected more than what he gave so far.

He was also in one of the most competitive divisions.
And he actually has great longevity. He was ranked in two very deep divisions for long time

In the UFC: Alistair Overeem
Such a disappointing showing.

I had high hopes for Ben Askren after he didn't lose too badly in the stand-up against fellow elite striker Maia. I thought he'd beat Jake Paul in boxing, get his back healthy again and come back to the UFC as the ultimate sprawl-n-brawl boxer. Oh well....
