Which fighter was (is) hardest to submit ever?

I think Jon Fitch deserves a mention
Yeah, he got subbed in the late stages of his career but the reason i think he deserves a mention is the fact that he actually wrestled all those fellas.
One thing is having a guy like Aldo who managed to avoid the ground game in almost all of his career due to godlike TDD. The other is actually having a wrestler using that game not only to win, but to neutralize bjj.

Brock bork1}
Frank Mir and the Ref cheated bork1}bork1}bork1} !!

@HI SCOTT NEWMAN only explanation

haha ref saw the video of Brock doing the F5 to that wild adult Shark and was scared for Mir and freaked out and stopped the fight. Brock won the 1st Mir fight with the ground 'n pound anyways, Ref was clueless

I don’t think a guy like Hazmat or Khabib would ever be in a position to get subbed. Beeb way too technical and great positioning. Hazmat also technical, but gorilla strong, always on the offense, always fishing for something. Guys just seem to go into survival mode once he’s on top.

Jones seems to be a popular answer, but man we saw Vitor almost break his arm. I think anyone else would have tapped to that. Otherwise, Jon has been very sound on top once he gets takedowns.

Two questions I hate is who has the best chin and who has the best sub defense. Both require you to be in a terrible situation to determine. The best fighter that never wound up almost submitted may have the best sub defense and that is clearly Jones

Well, if we're going by folklore and the sorts, the only reason Vitor didn't submit Jones was that he didn't wanna break his arm and hence let go of the arm.
If you believe that, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in buying.

When Vitor lost the armbar, Jon's forearm was flush against Vitor's torso and Vitor had no way to bend backwards. Vitor wasn't going to do any more damage than he'd already done.

This is an easy one, it has to be Jon Jones! Nobody has submitted him yet, and he made his debut in 2008! That's 16 years ago!

So happy to see so many posts for Lytle!!! Just rewatched his fight with Lawler, ridiculous fight (obv in a good way)

Aoki had 60 fights 0 submission losses. Diego had 44 with no submission losses.

Jones. TRT Vitor had him in the armbar and Jones still didn't tap. In fact a handicapped Jones made Vitor tap with a severely injured arm.
