(C) Belal Muhammad vs #3 Shavkat Rakhmonov - Who woulda thought in 2024... Belal as a champion but here we are now. I think in Abu Dhabi we could see Belal fight Shavkat if he wants to stay active. I think the UFC expected Leon to win this fight to be quite honest with you. I think they are gonna personally do JDM vs Ian Garry for the next title eliminator if they do Shavkat vs Belal. Welterweight is quite a mess to be honest with you who knows anymore and especially with talks of Islam moving up in the near future.
#1 Leon Edwards vs the winner of Burns/Brady or 185 - I honestly have no idea who you can put Edwards against, you could do Ian Garry, JDM, or even a move to 185 but I personally think Leon is gonna take some time off, usually the champions do so after losing their belt. Leon is about to be 33 so he's still young and we all know the UFC is not giving Leon a rematch, especially after that fight. I think Burns or Brady is an interesting matchup for Leon and his team.
(IC) Tom Aspinall vs The Winner of Gane/Volkov for the Undisputed after Jones Retires - Another great performance for Aspinall and you might be wondering, "Where is the Jones Matchup????" First of all, if you think that Jones in his "right" mind is going to go ahead and take that kind of risk to his legacy when he can beat Stipe who is the greatest HW of all time and ride off into the sunset as the best of all time. We all want to see this fight but we all know deep down that Jones won't take it, he's already 37 and only getting older and his motivation is nothing like it once was. I think Aspinall for Undisputed against Gane or Volkov is still a great fight, if Gane wins it's still a huge matchup to see and an interesting one. If Volkov win's its a rematch we get to see as Volkov has improved his game practically everywhere since losing to Aspinall the first time. I would love to see the Jones vs Aspinall fight, I just know Jones won't take it.
#4 Curtis Blaydes vs The Winner of Spivac/Tybura - Rough night for Curtis, although it was a bit of an early stoppage, he didn't take to much damage. In August we see Spivac and Tybura rematch in a 5 round main event in the Apex. I think Curtis should face the winner of this fight, plus it's a lot more of a respectable matchup for Curtis to take as they are both grapplers that he has yet to face.
#15 Paddy Pimblett vs #10 Renato Moicano (win or lose) - Paddy looked very good tonight, took his time on the feet and immediately capitalized on Bobby Green's mistake by shooting a takedown. Got the submission and put Green out cold then called out Moicano. I think this the fight to make win or lose as Renato has been calling for this fight forever but I think now is the best time ever to make it. I don't think the fight between BSD and Moicano leaves 2 rounds so this could be a fight you make early next year.
Bobby "King" Green vs Mike Davis - Bobby loses by first round submission tonight, first time he's been submitted in the UFC. He's going to be 38 in September and he's still very fun to watch but he is getting older. I would like to see him still fight people in that top 25ish, but only fights that are fun to him. Mike Davis is a perfect example of a fun fight. Davis was supposed to fight Dober 2 weeks ago but had to pull out cause of Injury, this could be a great fight later this year on a PPV prelim.
Gregory Rodrigues vs #15 Chris Curtis - Robocop is now 7-2 in the UFC and 5-1 in his last 6. I think it's time for a ranked opponent and I think Chris Curtis should be a good matchup. I know Curtis wants to come back later this year and I think Robocop would be up for it if he can heal up fast enough, but he did take some nasty elbows tonight that made some nasty cuts so we'll see, nonetheless this is a great fight Infront of a crowd.
Christian Leroy Duncan vs Robert Bryczek - CLD drops to 10-2 tonight, 3-2 in the UFC. He's still 29 so he is very young for the division, he did take a bit of damage tonight but his original opponent pulled over, only would assume with an injury. I say we rebook this one once both are fully healthy.
#6 Arnold Allen vs #4 Yair Rodriguez - Good win for Arnold tonight. Arguably could score round 1 for him but regardless he won the last 2 pretty clearly. Still only 30, he called for Yair and I think that is an absolute perfect fight on a PPV or a fight night main event Infront of a crowd. Would be a very fun one.
#10 Giga Chikadze vs the loser of Movsar Evloev/Aljamain Sterling - Giga had a good first round tonight but after it ended, couldn't seem to find his groove. If we know anything about Giga, he is pretty inactive since losing to Kattar, fighting 2 times in 2 and a half years isn't quite ideal but he did take a ton of career altering damage against Kattar. I think that Giga vs the loser of Evloev/Sterling early next year should do the trick as their around the same ranking.
Nathaniel Wood vs Sodiq Yusuff - Now 8-3 in the UFC, one "COULD" argue that Wood deserves a ranked opponent but he did lose to Naimov last year which had a bit of controversy. I think one more should do the trick for Wood. Who better than Sodiq Yusuff who was previously ranked a couple of months ago? This will prove if Wood truly does deserves a ranked opponent at 145. Also, make sure it's Infront of a crowd!
Daniel Pineda vs Alexander Hernandez - Despite almost being 39 years of age, and being 5-7 in the UFC, Daniel Pineda is one fun fighter to watch. I think one more fight to prove if he still belongs should do the trick. I think him vs Alexander Hernandez is a good fight. Hernandez is 6-7 in the UFC and once was a prospect to "watch out for", now he is 1- 4 in his last 5 with his one win coming against Jim Miller. I think the winner of this one stays and the loser hits the road, nonetheless should be a fun one.
Bruna Brasil vs Elise Reed - Great win for Brasil, huge betting underdog and she pulled it off. I personally thought the first round was a 10-8, that's how well she did against McCann. She truly looks better from her last fight against Loma. Although there is iffyness with her grappling so I think a wrestler in Elise Reed is a good test for her.
Molly McCann vs Marnic Mann - Such a weird position for Molly, it's very clear she just isn't UFC top 15-20 level. Although.... she does very well against the lower and bottom of the barrel fighters like a Marnic Mann who is 0-2 in the UFC. The UFC knows Molly does very well against these type of fighters and that's pretty much who Molly only does well against anyway. Give Molly another fighter she can get a highlight finish on and go from there I guess....
Jake Hadley vs Carlos Hernandez - Good for Hadley on getting the win putting him at an even 3-3 in the UFC, you could tell how emotional this one was for him. Getting it on short notice up a weight class and despite missing weight, pulled through and got a good win despite it not being the most entertaining. I hope despite the weight miss that he decides to go back to his natural weight class because 135 just isn't for him. I think Carlos Hernandez is a great fight as it puts 2 men who are in similar positions a chance to fight each other.
Caolan Loughran vs Dan Argueta - Very werid fight and a disappointing one from Loughran. Now 1-2 in the UFC, the only thing that is worth noting is his activity. This is his 3rd fight in 10 months. I think Argueta would be a good match as no joke, I think they are very similar built in terms of physic. I think the loser of this fight is probably gone as it is a 1-2 in the UFC vs a 1-3 in the UFC, should be interesting.
#6 Muhammad Mokaev vs #3 Amir Albazi - EDIT (Dana Just said they are going to let Mokaev go in the post fight press conference) One could argue Muhammad Mokaev deserves a title shot........ but after this fight....? I don't think so. Mokaev called for a title shot but not with a performance like that, although he did say before this fight if he doesn't get a title shot he wouldn't mind a fight with Albazi, who he seems to have some beef with as he said "I don't like that little rat". Albazi has been out for over a year from a Neck Injury and is looking to return around September/October, let's put this on the Abu Dhabi card, would be a great addition and it seems that the UFC pre-fight show may of leaked that Taira vs Royval is next, so this one makes perfect sense.
#8 Manel Kape vs #11 Tim Elliott - Well... kind of glad that wasn't on the main card now looking how it played out. Kape was very hesitant, even before he broke his toe in the second round. He's already 30 about to be 31, there is still a chance at a title but it's gonna keep getting harder from here, especially after this fight. Give him veteran Tim Elliott who is deserving of a small jump up in the rankings, something we can see later this year.
Oban Elliott vs Puna Soriano - Now 2-0 in the UFC, he is certainty looking better than his debut. His takedown defense was great tonight, and the best part is how young he still is in the game, only 26. He did great against a wrestler tonight and I would like the UFC to build him up seeing as he can get better. Soriano is a great next fight for Oban. Soriano is 4-4 in the UFC and recently dropped from 185 to 170 to help his career and picked up a dominating win over Miguel Baeza. Soriano is a massive Welterweight so if Oban Elliott can beat him in the grappling department, I would love to see what's next after this.
Preston Parsons vs Jeremiah Wells - Parsons is certainly a very heavy wrestling set type of fighter. His striking needs work but he wants to do one thing, and that is to get you to the ground. He is 2-3 in the UFC and is 29 years of age so he's in a weird spot. I think him vs Wells should be a great bounce back for both men. Wells started off 4-0 then dropped 2 in a row and now is 4-2 and is looking to get back in there with a win. Wells also has some underrated wrestling so we can see some crazy scrambles here.
Modestas Bukauskas vs Dustin Jacoby - Great showing from Modestas but man oh man is he one chinny individual. Feel's like every fight I watch him take part in he always ends up rocked. Someone who is pretty similar is Dustin Jacoby who recently just left the rankings, nonetheless he has lost his last 2 fights, one by KO and the other one by decision, although he got dropped in the one he lost by decision by Menifield. Would be a very interesting matchup to see who's chin survives the hardest shots.
Marcin Prachnio vs Jimmy Crute - No doubt an interesting fight we witnessed tonight to say the least. Prachnio had his moments many times but made simple mistakes in the grappling department that ultimately ended the fight in the 3rd round by Arm Triangle. Crute has been out for over a year after he said he was taking time off to get the love back he used to have for the sport. I think this is a good return fight for Crute and a winnable fight for both men.
Sam Patterson vs Carlston Harris - After a very rough UFC debut were he lost by brutal first round KO, he decided to make the move to 170 and has won twice, both by first round submission. Patterson is still only 28 and after 2 first round finishes, I think it's time for a jump up in competition. Who better than Carlston Harris? Harris is 4-2 in the UFC with his loses coming to Shavkat and Khaos Williams. Harris has great grappling so I'm curious to see how Patterson would match with Harris, would be a good one.
Kiefer Crosbie - Released - He's only 0-2 in the UFC but lost by first round submission in both bouts, is almost 35 and carries a 10-5 overall record. The UFC recently cut Val Woodburn after just 2 bouts, I see them doing the same thing to Crosbie. They could do him against a future Contender Series winner but right now I don't see it.
Mick Parkin vs #13 Alexander Romanov - That's 4 in a row for Parkin and he got his first UFC finish tonight! He certainly deserves a ranked opponent now and who better than Romanov. Out of Parkin's 4 fights in the UFC we haven't seen one thing yet, and that is him being tested by an offensive grappler and that's exactly what Romanov is. Romanov recently lost to #7 Jailton Almeida at UFC 302 but took no damage, similar to Parkin tonight. This could be a fight we see later this year on a fight night.
Łukasz Brzeski - Released - That's 1-4 in the UFC, this was a layup for Parkin and the only way Brzeski kept his spot is if he won and beat the odds and that did not happen.
#1 Leon Edwards vs the winner of Burns/Brady or 185 - I honestly have no idea who you can put Edwards against, you could do Ian Garry, JDM, or even a move to 185 but I personally think Leon is gonna take some time off, usually the champions do so after losing their belt.
