Which do you prefer watching MMA fights in the ring or cage?

In International Vale Tudo Championship they had netting below the bottom rope but that sucked too. People would get their heads stuck in the netting like a damn sardine in a fishing net.

It was very loose netting though as I remember, I'm thinking something significantly tougher than that, has a little give to it but not anywhere near that amount.

I just think it should be plexi glass like on an ice rink. I wanna see some heads fucking bounce off the plexi getting KOed plus imagine all the blood splatter.

Was it early Cage Rage which had that orange plastic mesh? I liked the way that had give to it.

Its the very solid surface which I think is open to a lot of cheap exploits.

Prefer the cage. I love eveyrthing about the ring....till it goes to the ground. Hate the restarts in the middle of the ring or the japanese guys pushing them back in the ring when they are gonna fall out. It's just not built at all for grappling.


It LOOKS better in the ring. It's def better for striking.

But I prefer the cage. I like how the cage is used strategically.

That's why they have window cleaners that come in between rounds and clean it off.

Yeah but it would look like shit until they did that. Youd be cheated if the guy got knocked out but you couldnt see anything because of all that shit. Especially if you were there live.

I don't know, it might not be as bad as you think. Maybe I need to start a promotion to test this idea out.

I like the ring better. Less wall and stall and resets are ok if the ref handles them well (like when they keep fighter in position and just drag them across the mat)
