I don't know because he's not in the USADA testing pool.

Omfg there's actually bellatards that have convinced themselves Bader could be even remotely competetive in the UFC HW??

He got KO'd by Corey Anderson, good grief you guys...

I could see him beating any of the top 10, to be honest. Including Ngannou. Nobody is particularly good in that division.

I could see him having a chance against guys like Gane or maybe even Lewis (although he’s a wild card that could KO him at any given moment), but he’d get wrecked by guys like Stipe or Ngannou, or even Blaydes IMO. And obviously Jones would be favored if he ever actually competes at HW.

So yeah, top 10 sounds about right. It’s not a very deep division and with the right line up of fights, he could potentially “match up” his way to a title fight. I wouldn’t see him being coddled in that way and getting the chance though.

Bader and Moldavsky would beat Derrick Lewis easily.

He's a top 3 title contender in the ufc.

Be careful talking shit about bellator hw division when Lewis is where he is.
And ryan bader is the hw champ in bellator…..

He seems like an alright dude but really what performance would you use to place him at the top of the hw division? Certainly not the last fight. Or the one before that. Maybe beating mitrione?

Bader is very good at HW. He says the weight cut to 205 affects his chin, speed and endurance in a negative way and I believe him.

It's not any one performance that I measure his abilities by but rather a body of work. The guy has proven he hits hard and can wrestle at very high intensity for 5 rounds and is a black belt in BJJ now too.

Someone like him will always give someone like Lewis major problems. Even if Lewis KOd him Blaydes style, it doesn't mean he could do that consistently. More times than not HW Bader would wrestle him down and pound on him.

IF Bader wasn’t quite as chinny as he is, I’d say he could make top 5. He has a decent right hand and would easily be one of the best grapplers in the division.

What’s his body of work at hw? Mitrione and fedor? This last fight? Beating mo?

you’re trying to piece together a narrative that bader is a top hw when he’s much more proven as a top 5-10 lhw.

Yes he dominated Mitrione who knocked out Lewis, stopped Fedor and just went 5 hard rounds with Moldavsky who is one of the best wrestlers in the HW division and Bader wrestled him for 5 rounds with no problem while showing impressive speed and power rocking him in the first and nearly getting the KO. Enough for me to think Bader would beat Lewis more times than not who struggled badly with the 5'8 wrestler Latiffi and needed the judges to give him a gift decision.

This came up recently and really I think its quite hard to judge because so many of the guys at HW today havent really been tested that much wrestling wise, same as at LHW.
I think Dana tries to weed out wrestlers. Starting right from DWCS. If someone grapples to a victory, there’s little chance they’re getting a contract. Which is a shame because that seems like it’ll stifle the evolution of MMA.
