When you rate something it's all about relativity...why do you think Obamacare is so horrible?

Its time to stop going "but but but socialism" and just adopt universal healthcare. Every year we are falling behind European and Asian countries because we refuse to act. We're the only industrialized nation without universal healthcare. "But its a broken system in those other countries" is a bunch of crap. People aren't dropping dead in the streets all over Europe's universal healthcare nations.

Your insurance guy is probably full of shit like most insurance guys.

Cigna is one of the largest providers in the country.

The broker is probably trying to sell him the worst option so he can get a bigger incentive bonus.

You forgot that we don't work, all the left leaning posters are just paid Soros plants.

To conservatives, it's impossible to have a job and a conscious at the same time.

I think it's because they're largely a collective of sociopaths.

do you mean conscience?

conservatives donate more to charity, at every income level, both percentage of income and total amount

voting to force other people to spend money on other people, does not mean you have a conscience. it means you dont want to donate it yourself

I have to hand it to you, you have no shame when it comes to you saying stupid shit.

Oh the irony. You really think the governments is job is to cater to you?

no, as defined by the founding fathers, the government exists to defend our rights, life, liberty and property.

that doesnt include distribution of wealth

I honestly think Trumps health plan will end up being pretty liberal.

im 27 years old, i pay 257 a month for a bronze plan with a $5000 deductible. obama said i could keep my plan and could get health insurance for less than my cell phone plan

I'm not singling you out for any particular reason but you mentioned deductibles while I was thinking about something:

You have a $5k deductible. Do you have to pay the entire deductible before insurance chips in anything. OR...Do you split the bill with the insurance company until you reach the deductible and then they pay everything.

There's a huge difference between the 2 and I wonder if people are thinking they're in the first definition when they're actually in the second.

Personally, I don't mind a higher deductible with a payment split if it means a lower premium. What I save on the premium is used to cover my portion of the bill and since my wife and I never get sick, it's just money saved.

I remember under a private plan, pre obamacare, I had a PPO, I could go to any doctor, my doc charges between 40-60 out of pocket. Had to get obamacare last year, premium cost more, I was stuck in an HMO with a shit facility (even though a good neighborhood), deductible was 45 per visit.....

I'll keep it simple, as long as our nation is paying 17%+ of our GDP on healthcare, no matter how you fudge and cheat numbers, it's a failure. 10% or below should be our goal.

Let me ask this again- Why should I have to pay more because of others?

Maybe the same reason some people pay taxes to protect your property (police, fire, etc.) when they themselves have no property?

Or people with no children who pay property taxes which are used to fund schools?

There comes a point when the actions of individuals cannot keep up with the demand for care, and we reached that decades ago. Individual charity, while meritorious and makes the donor feel good about themselves, they still cannot keep up with the scale of society no matter how good their intentions are.

We need organized thoughtful planning to tackle the challenges the scale of our society produces for us.

We are the largest economy on Earth, we should working on setting a standard of living for all our citizens that is fair to everyone and that starts with better education and health care.

it depends what its for

if i went to the emergency room, i would have to pay my entire remaining deductible before they pay anything

for things like doctor visits and medications, we split the bill but my deductibles go to the annual deductible

i dont know how they determine what part of my payment is deductible or copay though

how many peoples healthcare do you pay for? how much money do you personally donate to pay for the healthcare of others?

if you dont donate any, how much of my money do you want to go towards the healthcare of others?

Yeah, that's how most plans are so I think it's somewhat disingenuous when people (not you, people in the general sense) claim that higher deductibles make the plans unaffordable. Unless you're required to pay the entire deductible before the ins. pays anything, most of the time people's splits are pretty reasonable.

So, either politicians are misleading the public (believe me, I've seen it happen) or people don't understand how their deductibles actually work (believe me again, people can be stupid).

I'm perfectly fine with paying more taxes in order for everyone to get better healthcare and education especially if everyone else does too.

I believe the standard for most plans is 80/20.

The real issue is people are retarded and they think that just because they pay for health insurance all of their medical expenses should be covered in full.

its still unaffordable for people to pay $6300 to go to the emergency room though, and god forbid they are near a hospital outside of their network, in which case its $9800

im 27 in great health, the only time i expect a large expense is an unforeseen emergency, which would cost me the whole deductible

its not like my monthly premium is very low to justify the high deductible either

i agree that it helps make normal doctor visits and preventative care more affordable though. until i switched the UCI's network i paid $75 copay just to talk to a doctor. i think thats reasonable and affordable

do you ever think that there are people who cant afford to pay more taxes

why do you want to take their money at gunpoint when you can just donate it yourself? do you not have a conscience?
