I think 20 years ago people had less mental problems than they do today, therefore there was less violence. Being able to defend yourself today is a a necessity.
No fucking way. People were way more repressed emotionally and violent back in the day. My dad grew up moving place to place and constantly was fighting just to prove himself. Masculinity was much more linked to your ability to fight and defend yourself than now.

The only reason you might think there's more violence now is because every fight is uploaded online for you to see. It's more accessible to see, but nowhere near as common.
 
that dude trains for sure. Super compact stance and never over extended. Rare to see low kicks used so well in a scrap
 
Lol @ the crossed eyes. For the millionth time what the hell are some people thinking when they square up. The leg kick knockdown was a good clue to get the fuck out of there.

These guys most likely aren't used to fighting someone who clearly trains.
